One of my favorite movies about the south and life itself. What a movie.

Jenny was the true antagonist in the movie.

Change my mind.

Does Forrest truly go on a hero’s journey? Does he undergo a change? He kind of does when he asks Jenny to marry him.

It’s seems like everyone else changes except Forrest. Maybe?

Jenny, the grandpa in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Rose were three of the biggest pieces of garbage in movie history. All three are awful human beings.

Why is Jenny so awful? She was raised in one of the worst upbringings imaginable, befriended Forrest, went and tried to find herself, let Forrest lose his v-card to her...

Because Forrest was so autistically focused on her, she had to be his? If Forrest wasn't mentally challenged, we'd all think he was a weird obsessive cuck.

Two things were taught here. First off, you love it because you can relate. Second, you completely misunderstood the entire purpose of the film if you think it was about the South. It wasn't, he just happened to live there. But whatever...

He does. He gains confidence in himself and learns to shuck the label of stupid that had been placed on him since childhood. He learns to live and thrive outside the confines of society and social restraints like leg braces, racial stereotypes, religion, etc. He learns to reconcile the tension between destiny and free will. He is changed by his experiences and we find a much different Forest at the end.

Forrest Gump doesn’t work if he lives anywhere else. Change my mind.

She gave Forrest AIDS and has him raising someone else's kid while making him think it's his kid.

Walker Texas Ranger had to tell the kid he has AIDS:

She's awful.

Does he? Or does he continue to struggle with it?

How many Forrest Gumps are there?

Low IQ, Mama fricks teacher, lives an adventurous life. Girl he loves messes with him, gets AIDS, hides kid from him. Honestly it's more sad than anything. He just didn't know any better.

Yeah, can’t really blame her for not wanting to be with Forest forever. He was retarded for god sake.

Certainly possible it was someone else’s kid, but not a stretch for him to not have AIDS from her, especially if they had limited sexual intercourse

They had sex once in 1976.

She was a pretty awful human being, but she couldn’t possibly have given him AIDS.
