Supposedly he wasn’t near the pain in the arse as he’s portrayed.

I read his Wiki page.He had a pretty amazing career after Ford which included becoming a college president and turning around a company that was on the verge of bankruptcy

Good movie. Watched it last night. Not a Matt Damon fan but definitely a good movie. Watch it in Epic XL.

Bale did a great job portraying Miles. Seeing the rotor's light up was awesome and the racing scenes were excellent. Getting a car up to 7000 RPM at 220 MPH is hauling arse!

Definitely worth spending the money to see it in the XL theater.

Just got home from seeing this. I went in skeptical because I am a life long Ford guy and big Ford Racing fan so I knew the story well. I came away more than pleased at how it was portrayed. A very well made movie that stuck to the story for the most part. I was also pleasantly surprised at Damon's performance as Shelby. I think he got his mannerisms well and even the accent was decent.

New doc on Netflix "Shelby American" which is well done and is a good primer on the man and the company.

Just got out of the theater and man, that movie was absolutely gripping. If you have even the least bit of interest in cars, it’s awesome.

Saw it last night. Really hit home for me. I was a big Carroll Shelby fan and owned a '67 GT500 convertible that I purchased with $3k in 1975. The engine, transmission, ragtop and upholstery were all in shite condition. We'd (my dad and I) had just rebuilt an Austin-Healy Sprite. When I found this, we sold the Sprite, spent it to purchase the car and spent the next year working on it when I was home from college.

Rebuilt the block, added a Holley carb, a Hurst shifter, replaced the clutch, added Hooker headers and installed a new ragtop. Turned the brakes, replaced the calipers. and pads. It was an awesome car. Until 562 miles later, when I finally had opened it up, determined it had some slight vibration in the suspension at 105, so dropped it down, dropped off the two friends with me, and was headed home when at the intersection of Youree Drive and 70th, a 74 year old woman ran the red light just as I was passing through and centered me on the passenger side, crumpling the frame and totaling the car.

I sued, of course, and made a sizeable settlement, but damn I wish I still had that car.

Anyway, after watching that last night, my 13 year old promised to help me speed up and finish the workshop I'm building, which will give me the place I need to rebuild a car. Fondest memories I have with my dad were rebuilding those two cars, so I know this will mean a lot to him down the road.

Saw it last night with my 18 y/o son. He's not a big racing fan, but he REALLY liked the movie (as a whole and for the racing scenes).

I liked it a lot. Great performances by everyone, especially Bale and Damon.

one of the best movies I have seen in a while. such good performances. I had no knowledge of the story around that, but man was it good. reaffirmed my love for the older model mustangs.
