When I saw the trailer, I thought it was a live action "Speed Racer".

Bought tickets for a mid-day show tomorrow. Taking the family for my son's (car guy) 19th birthday. I'm really stoked to see this.

Saw it today.Great movie!
Racing scenes were unbelievable as was Bale who also has great chemistry with Damon.

Always loved the story of the actual event. I have problems picturing Matt Damon as Carroll Shelby though. Couldn't they have found someone else? That is my only hesitation in seeing it.

So is it better than the four greatest racing flicks of all time?

1 - Rush
2 - Cars
3 - Talladega Nights
4 - Cannonball Run

Honorable mentions, Grand Prix, Le Mans, Days of Thunder, Winning,

Guess a young Slim Pickens might have been perfect. But seriously, I’m not sure. Carroll seemed to be a lot taller and more Texan than Damon.

Adam Corolla looks more like Shelby than Damon.

I saw it this morning too. I thought Matt Damon, pulled it off rather nicely. I had heard of Christian Bale, but couldn't tell you a movie he was in before this one. He was excellent in the character of Ken Miles.

My brother, myself and life long friend, did this movie together today. All of us being huge Carrol Shelby fans from those days, were at the the 24 hours of Daytona race depicted in the movie.

The movie kind of trudged along for the first 30 minutes laying the foundation for the uninitiated, as to who Ken Miles, was and the part he played as a mechanic, builder and driver of the Cobras, GT 350s and GT-40s.

If you were/are a fan of racing fro those times, I believe you will like the movie. I loved it.

Just go in with the under standing that the movie is exactly what the movies title says it's about, not so much Carroll Shelby, Ken Miles or Lee Iacocca. It was about Ford v Ferrari.

The Dark Knight trilogy, American Psycho, The Prestige, The Fighter, American Hustle, The Big Short, Vice. Never seen any of those? He’s been in the elite group of actors for some time now

No. Never. I've only seen three movies since Saving Private Ryan.

Not really. There was serious conflict between Leo Beebe and Carroll Shelby along with conflicts among Ken Miles and other drivers on the Ford team.

Right up there with these two and better than your top four.

True. I'm not a movie critic and didn't want to get into that much detail. For me, I was expecting to see more of the life and times of Carroll Shelby. It wouldn't have been a very good movie without those facts you mentioned. Ultimately it was about Ford v Ferrari.
