Used to be "Content is King"

Now it's "Content aggregators are King"

Now and then you'll have to kiss Rotten Tomato's arse to get your info.

Do other websites/reviewers have any power over that? They obviously rely a ton on RT for views/clicks, but no way they can stop another site from linking and quoting them right? That doesn't exactly fall under plagiarism or content laws?

I really think DC went overboard in making sure their movies weren't going to be live-action versions of Superfriends. It had to be darker than a hokey Saturday morning cartoon; but they pushed too far.

While I thought Wonder Woman was a decent film, I felt like it suffered from many of the same problems the other DCEU films did. Perhaps all the positive press/hype surrounding the film had more to do with the fact that, for the first time, a major female comic book icon was being brought to the big screen in her own movie?

Wonder Woman was well liked here b/c regardless of the mistakes it made as a film it clearly was made by a director who understands the character and cares about being fairly true to the spirit of the source material.

Snyder's movies get hated on b/c he only seems to care about making things look cool with explosions and slo mo and making the characters dark and gritty and miserable. He either doesn't understand or doesn't give a flip about the source material.

This is a problem when you are making a film for an audience that has preconceived notions about how characters should be portrayed. If Snyder had the ability to tell a coherent original story his interpretations might be more well received. But for whatever reason if he isn't essentially using a graphic novel as his storyboard he can't do it.

And never has it been so obvious that the character of Wonder Woman is now being presented through a man’s eyes. Snyder chooses on multiple occasions to let the shot linger on Gadot’s figure, whether panning up her legs unnecessarily to get to a normal scene of dialogue or making sure that the camera is there to capture the moment when her skirt flies up in an action sequence. It is, quite frankly, gross and a wildly disappointing departure from what Patty Jenkins was able to accomplish with the character earlier this year.

No need to read further. If you are watching a super hero movie expecting some kinda social justice crap, I do need to see your review.
