Free HBO weekend. It was good. DCU did something right.

I didn't really enjoy any of the underwater scenes, but Amber Heard was a smokeshow the entire movie, and the submarine scene at the beginning was worth the ticket IMO.

I also enjoyed it and a number of others also did on this board.

The hate this movie gets from some is hilarious, they act like it was Suicide Squad levels of bad.

Aquaman was a fine popcorn movie. Not as good as Wonder Women but a peg below it.

I had it as my #1 DCEU movie, but I just watched Shazam! again, and I’m putting Shazam! at my new #1. Aquaman a solid #2

Wonder Woman and Shazam! had a better flow, Aquaman and Shazam! had the best third act.

Meh. Mamoa and Heard didn't have any chemistry for me. Kidman and Morrison's story and chemistry came across far better. I put that more on Heard and the writing than on anything else. The writing for their dialogue seemed uninspired and her portrayal was a bit wooden (and that's not even mentioning the shite coloring they did with her hair, the more natural red in JL worked far better).

The effects were solid (although maybe a bit overdone on the shiny coral) and Mamoa's Aquaman is a fun version.

Is Amber Heard in that movie the hottest babe in both MCU and DCU? She’s an 11 in Aquaman

I liked parts of it, but I was dissapointed overall. Momoa was great, and the trench scene was really cool. The underwater scenes, however, were cringe. Teenage Aquaman is a horrendous actor.

My wife gets mad at me every time I bring this up to make fun of her with but she legit teared up at the end when Kidman finally reunites with Morrison. She'd been making fun of the movie's ridiculousness the entire time we were watching but when that scene ran it was Niagara Falls Frankie angel for her. It annoys her to no end that I drop that card whenever she makes fun of something I'm watching.

Shazam
WW
Aquaman

The rest

This is how I would rank them so far. AM was a fun movie, but it's pacing and plotting was flawed at points. Mamoa is great in the role, but he isn't a good enough actor to carry a movie.

Shazam was the best combination of fun, flow and great story. It does appear WB has finally found a winning formula for their SuperMovies

I will say that after watching the special features on both Shazam and Aquaman I was stunned at just how many of the sets and effects were done with old school practical work. The Aquaman special features especially gave me a new appreciation for how much work was put into the movie b/c I had assumed that 99% of it was CG.

It was an ok movie, but the Black Manta was awful. Looked like a Power Rangers villain and the whole fight scene between he and Aquaman looked like a Power Rangers type movie.

She’s not even close to being the hottest.

The only potential candidates to best her are Gal Gadot and Hayley Atwell.

That's being pretty generous. Both the writing and acting were just bad, the dialogue especially.
