Holy shite that was fun . Usually not a fan of musicals, but that one was hitting for me on so many levels.

Can't get the dang soundtrack out of my head, and I've decided I'm ok with that

It is here in SA. I was shocked--thought we'd missed our chance to see it.

If it makes you feel any better our babysitter situation fell through so we took Quattro and I ended up missing part of the 2nd act because he decided to act a plumb fool in the middle of the goddamn theater

It reminded me of Moulin Rouge, but a lot more fun.

Better songs and actors who can actually sing them.

It's what Moulin Rouge aspired to be, IMO.

They got me in the door with the subject matter (I almost always like movies centered around war, outer space, or the circus), but the visuals and audio blew me away. Next level stuff.

Some damn slick choreography in there, too

There's a great video of Jackman audtioning a song for the movie to some movie execs, I believe, to get the green light, and he had just had surgery on his nose and was actually instructed not to sing by his doctor. He's lip synching for a while and at some point says the hell with it and the entire room explodes with the song. Pretty incredible.

Big Hugh Jackman fan. Adoptive parent and all around awesome guy.

here's the clip

Right there with ya. Especially love that he's an adoptive parent. I would love to do the same one day (two of my siblings were adopted). Good dude.

I mean, he's fricking Wolverine

It's still in cinemas in my area.

Movie came out on about 2 months ago.

It's funny these days when people think that's an old dog.

Back to the Future was in theaters for 10 months, ET over a year...Star Wars, two years.

Went and saw it last Friday with the family.

I agree. I went in with zero expectations, expecting not to like it at all, (not big on musicals), but man, I enjoyed it. Great movie and surprised it didn’t get more Oscar pub.

I am glad I got to see it in a theater. I think it really enhanced the movie being on the big screen. Will certainly buy it once it comes out on DVD.

Hugh Jackman is so unbelievably underrated and versatile. He's one of the most talented guys in Hollywood. He deserves every ounce of his success.

This movie along with TLJ are why I’ve grown to hate critics and pay little attention to them anymore.. They panned this movie because apparently making a fun inspiring movie about the past has to be completely factual.

Honestly, it was the best movie experience I’ve had in years and the soundtrack is addicting..

Yeah I made the mistake of reading a review over the holidays that dampened my expectations toward TGS going in. Dead arse wrong. I think critics forget that they don't HAVE to rip every movie up one side and down the other to be viewed as objective. Every movie isn't going to be some once-in-a-generation masterpiece. There's still plenty of room in cinema for the feel-good film, if done well, and of course this movie delivered in spades on that level.

Was sitting there in the theater during the From Now On sequence holding my son on my lap and holding my wife's hand and I just had the craziest grin on my face through the whole thing. Couldn't help it--that type of portrayal of unbridled joy resonates with me.

I almost always have a good time at the movies, but pardon my raving about this one. It was pretty dang special for some reason and I appreciated it.

Oh, and Hugh Jackman is the man.

Indeed. Blows my mind in retrospect. Part of the reason I refuse to get wrapped up in Oscar hype.

Ditto. This was one of those movies like Gravity in that it just packed a little extra punch on the big screen. Struck the right tone visually for sure.
