Not sure what reviews you read because the show was pretty pretty critically acclaimed.
I really really like the show, one of the more intriguing shows in years honestly, but I had to stop posting in the Severance thread because you could literally not saying anything even remotely questioning the show without getting jumped on. Simply wishing they answered questions or saying something like I hope this doesn't turn out like LOST with so many unanswered questions would get you ridiculed. So I just enjoyed the show on my own.
There ended up being some complaints I had after the finale for sure because certain things were a big let down more questions than answers once again but I would recommend giving season two a try. There are a handful of episodes that are top tier television (and no bad episodes) that make the season worth it in itself.

Huh? Where did I say that? Answering some questions does not mean I want the show to end. But you create more problems for yourself (like LOST) when you keep adding more and more and not answering some along the way. Add to the fact that they built so much up to what was being done was the biggest accomplishment in Lumons history and it ended up being kind of a nothing burger.
Again, I have to preface all of this with Severance people, it's still one of the best shows in recent memory, but I have some issues and reservations.

They answered questions. They gave us more as well. This show is phenomenal.
If you can't deal with mysteries it isn't going to be for you.

Having some reservations and being let down in a few things does not mean the show isn't for me or that I don't think it is phenomenal. I love weird shows. The weirder the better and this fits the bill. But I do have in the back of mind this could go the way of LOST given just how many questions it's building up. And I know that is unacceptable to say around here but it is what it is.

I'd recommend going back and watching S2. Knowing what occurs, what you get and don't get...it will make a big difference to you

Yea I'm definitely going to rewatch shortly before season 3. If I rewatch now I'll already have forgotten by the time season 3 comes around.

I always appreciate your insight to threads like this, and appreciate your information. But the bottom line is that shows could definitely shorten their time between seasons...they just don't seem to have a desire to because they know people will watch anyway. It's one of the downsides to streaming IMO: accessibility has made the creators lazier to a degree.
And I am not trying to downplay the work involved, but waiting two and three years (or sometimes more) between seasons is absolutely asinine.
But all that being said, I will watch as many seasons of Severance as they put out.

Agree 100% with that, and had the exact same complaint about S2. It got weird beyond all sake of reality (even within the reality of the show itself), and solely for the sake of being weird. And the creators even said as much (i.e. I remember a thread here where they said that they put the marching band in there because they were trying to think of the most random wild shite they could come up with, and someone landed on marching band). I also didn't like the weird realities they got into (like the snow episode)...again, just weird for the sake of being weird, and things sort of fall apart if you apply logic to it for ten seconds.
S2 was definitely a step down. But it was still really good television IMO. But like you, I really hope they can get back to S1-level quality. It was top notch.

Agreed. It seems to be an Apple TV issue more than most studios but it is getting ridiculous. I understand if they want to wait for audience reaction and initial numbers to start coming in before formulating a decision but a show like Severance was pretty big right off the bat and it took 3 years.
Widow's Bay was a big hit and they just announced last week they're back in the writers' room. Pluribus is going down this frustrating path as well.
I don't remember shows like Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Sopranos, etc. taking incredibly long breaks between seasons and those are some of the best shows of all time.

I'm ok with all of that and will still welcome it getting weirder. The LOST comparisons will ultimately fail because of the constraints of network television. Stiller is unbound. I think it's going to get way weirder and I am fully in favor of that.

The marching band aside which is odd and opens questions like why do they spend money on a severed marching band but only have a fat opera singer running security
The more frustrating thing about season 2 was characters acting irrationally just to keep the viewer in the dark
Like when the sister is like I am going to call cobel, black is like “no, she is evil and I am gone”
Instead of taking a breath and you know elaborating they just go there separate ways
Then when mark and his sister meet cobel. She is like “it’s called cold harbor”
Then despite seeming spending hours together in the woods they don’t talk about what cold harbor is or they did and the viewer didn’t see it.
I enjoy a lot of the show but its annoyingly frustrating at times to me

It's the Memento effect IMO. The audience was kept in the dark a lot in Memento and that was a great movie, so we just need to confuse the audience that's the hallmark of an intelligent, cerebral film.
It doesn't work that way.
