This is a movie I would love to see again. Great, underrated 80's movie. But, I never found it on DVD, and none of the streaming services I have seem to include it.

Born in 1959.

Movies for kids:

The Incredible Journey (1963)
The Jungle Book (1967)
Swiss Family Robinson (1960)
Follow Me, Boys! (1966)
Frosty the Snowman (1969)

Grown up movies I saw, and liked, as a kid:

The Great Escape (1963
Patton (1970)
Von Ryan's Express (1965)
The Train (1965)
Bonnie and Clyde (1967)
True Grit (1969)
Will Penny (1968)
Cool Hand Luke (1967)
Planet of the Apes (1968)
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962)

All were seen at a theater, or on Network TV. We didn't have VHS, DVD's, DVR's, Cable, or streaming services.

I was 7 years old when I saw Rocky. I begged my dad to go and get me a set of boxing gloves and a heavy bag as soon as we got out of the theater. It definitely shaped my childhood by showing me the honor in perseverance.

To this day, whenever I hear the trumpet fanfare for Rocky I get goosebumps.

ETA...my favorite "childhood" movie (actual kid movie) would probably be the Disney version of Robin Hood. It came out when I was 4, and I had to dress up like Robin Hood that Halloween.
