I have the urge to watch the Andy Griffith Show lately.

Best episode in my opinion is "High Noon in Mayberry" where the man Andy shot comes back to town.

Of course any episode featuring the Darlings or Ernest T is an instant classic.

Andy should have married Charlene. Screw Helen.

Any scene with Ernest T or Otis is golden.

I love the "citizen's arrest" scene with Gomer.

The episode with Aunt Bea's homemade pickles and the episode with all the spaghetti are also classics.

Any episode where one of the characters gets liquored up--oftentimes unbeknownst the character. Examples: Barney and The Mayor drinking from the water cooler that Otis had spiked, Aunt Bee and her friends getting rowdy by drinking a health drink which is really booze, drunken chickens, etc.

Favorite Andy Griffith Show Moments?

Good lord...I grew up on this show. It could take a bit. LOL.

It's obvious to look at Ernest T Bass, Otis, Barney and Floyd the Barber.

I think my favorite aspect is Andy's over all calm in the storm. Even when things seem to get screwy, he always became the the voice of reason and wisdom. I also like the fact he was a good daddy. You didn't see a lot of widowed dad's in these times and this was and important part of the show.

The one with the spoiled kid and the bike is one of mine.

Took his dad long enough to realize he needed a little time in the woodshed.

When Barney was trying to teach Goober how to treat a woman they watched Andy through his window with Helen. At one point Goober starts cheering for Andy and it was hilarious.

Anytime Barney deputized Gomer/Goober and Floyd for one reason or another, it was always a fun time.

I liked the one where Barney buys the motorcycle with the side car. The one where Barney and Floyd are taken hostage by the two women convicts is a funny one. I also enjoyed the episodes where Otis finds out about his famous ancestor and is honored by the town, and where he finds the old war bonds and thinks he is rich, until he learns they were Confederate war bonds.

I enjoyed watching AGS when I was a kid. For some reason I just wanted to live in Mayberry.

The episode that had both Earnest T Bass and the Darling Family.

Gomer introducing Goober.

And for heartwarming moments: Buddy Ebsen as the drifter who leads Opey down the path of laziness and grifting, then sacrifices himself to getting arrested to get Opey back on the straight and narrow.

Gomer’s citizens arrest was great. Plus there was the added bonus of a pissed off Barney

Andy is out of town for a day, and comes back to find that Barney has arrested the whole town.

I always chuckle at the scenes where Andy it teaching Opie a deep life lesson in the living room while smoking a cigarette.

Times certainly change.

when Barney gets his motorcycle and side car. I don't care how many times i watch this one, but when barney drives away and Andy is sitting in the side car and the old men on the bench fall over laughing, makes me laugh every time.

love the show

The pickle episode was great. Hated the darlings and Ernest T.

Andy's hottest woman was Peggy. He should have locked that down.

Also, any episode where Barney was drunk was TV gold

Too many to just pick a few. But I agree with almost all that have been mentioned so far.

One of my favorites is "The Manicurist" when Barbara Eden comes to town looking for a "Friendly Place" to settle down and ply her trade as a manicurist. The reaction of the men of Mayberry is funny, and the eventual reaction of their wives is predictable.

A lot of very good actors came on that show. Lee van Cleef, Barbara Eden, Jack Nicholson, Don Rickles, George Kennedy, Bill Bixby, just to name a few.

And for heartwarming moments:

Also the episode where they were having a Christmas party at the jail and Ben Weaver wanted to join in so he kept trying to get arrested and Andy kept letting him go.
