Nicky Rubenstein and the deaf guy are great

I was rolling at Billy Bob in the station, he ran circles around those hicks.

He was hilarious as the minister. The heart-stopper line was great.

Did it bother anyone else how easy it was for Malvo to leave the jail? I mean I get he is a total badass, but that was extremely pathetic and a bit ridiculous for a show that has been so smart thus far. I still loved the episode, but that bothered me a bit.

Not at all. Gus arrested him for really no reason besides just remembering his face. They had 0 concrete evidence to tie him to anything and his alias checked out...what would they have put him in jail for?

I'm trying to figure out how this happened. Did he assume a real identity and the Sheriff simply called someone from the town he was supposedly from, asked if they knew him...and that was it?

Also, Malvo is a freaking genius. He has Stravos' mind altered with speed, and combines that with "plagues" from the Bible, to the point that he believes God is actually interfering in his life. Malvo has complete control of Stravos' life, emotions, thoughts, etc.

I think its fairly easy to assume that his organization has some kind of automatic setup for alibis with that story, so when they call...someone from the organization couches for him and his whereabouts.

But Malvo told them to call anyone from the area. There's no way they could have covered for him if that was the case.

I think you're over thinking it.

Just go with that they called that church he said he was a reverend at. Someone answers that particular number and knows to act like a church secretary and vouch for "Rev. Peterson".

Its not like the police are actually going to "call around and ask anyone"...like random citizens in another town.

Those cops make the Keystone cops look like the FBI.

He stands on high after loosing cricket colonies. Thought it was a great episode. Lester will be forced to chew his gangrenous looking hand off pretty soon...

The preview with the three of them in the holding tank, "What if we don't want to leave".

How it checked out is left unexplained. Presumably there's a real minister up in Bodette who would say, "hey, that isn't me." Or there's no minister and the cops would know he's lying.

I love that they had Stavros find the million dollar ransom Buscemi buried and marked by the ice-scraper.

Which is why the painting of the ice scrapper in his office makes sense.

Oh, and did anybody else notice Danny from King of Queens as one of the cops? I thought that was great. Haven't seen that dude in anything lately.

Yup, very interesting to see the things they are tying in from the movie.

I'm starting to think Sheriff Saul Goodman is somehow involved in Malvo's scheme

Few questions:

How did Billy Bob know to use God as an angle with Malvo??

What was the purpose of Billy Bob getting arrested? He obviously set it up, but for what purpose?

Didn't his office have religious images all over the place? I seem to recall stained glass windows and all kind of creepy stuff. As far as getting caught, I didn't think he set it up at all.

On a side note, I think the writing for Billy Bob's character is genius. All the little stuff makes me laugh, like when he was getting arrested.

"Drop the phone!"
"But it's brand new."
