I stand corrected. It's been a few years since I read it.

But yeah, once the queens realized that humans weren't drones, they stopped attacking and tried to make peace.

It's a great commentary on how a different intelligent species might not understand us and the problems it would create.

I read all the books and I don’t seem to remember them making the Formics bad. But those stories got pretty convoluted towards the end so I could be mistaken. I do remember they discovered another alien race that had created the Piggies and he is supposed to write a novel exploring that and also tying together the Ender and Shadow series. But I doubt he ever gets around to finishing it.

The Dune movie was good but flawed and just too weird for general appeal. I'll always defend it. Will be interesting to see how the remake does. A lot of big stars have signed on so far, but I doubt it can work for a major release because the material is inaccessible for a wide audience.

It is my understanding that the story will be told over two movies, in order to include as much from the book as possible.

That was a flaw of the 1984 movie.

2nd worst movie ever made behind The Last Airbender.

Apparently you haven’t seen TLJ.

I didn’t read the book, but I didn’t think it was horrible. There are a lot worse movies such as The Happening, Battlefield Earth, and Catwoman.

I agree. I loved the book series (Read about 20 books set in that universe) but the movie fell really flat.

I think it is a story that needs to be a series so there is sufficient time to tell the full story.

It was one of the worst book to movie adaptations I have ever seen.

I think it was worse than TLJ.

At least TLJ had some actual good segments buried within.

I liked the scenes where Rey and Kylo Ren were communicating telepathically. The movie was also well directed, the actors put forth good performances, and the sets were great. It’s just the fricking script was just awful.

The Last Airbender had none of these things going for it. Nothing worked at all and Shyamalan clearly just phoned it in. And then to end the film with a bow out, what balls, what fricking balls after making one of the worst movies ever.

But I’d put Ender’s Game over the Last Jedi if that is what you are talking about. I’ve read the book a few times and thought the movie was a mediocre adaptation of it. There’s a reason it has been in development hell for so long, and it is that it doesn’t translate well to film.
