Sorry, last 8 movies, 1 good turnout. You can blame Covid but most of those movies would have been garbage either way

Keep shifting them goalposts youll get there eventually.

They are in the last 8 theater release movies as well.

Here are the movies in order
1.Elio
2. Inside Out 2
3. Elemental
4. Lightyear
5. Onward (2020 Covid)
6. Toy Story 4
7. Incredibles 2
8. Coco

Turning Red and Soul were released on disney+ years before they released in theaters so counting them wouldn't make any sense.

I have an 18 and 15 YO boys and we got to movies of all stripes.

We went to HtTYD last weekend and saw this trailer. Asked them if they had any desire to see it and they both said it looked beyond stupid. Both these kids would go to a re-release of Toy Story, Cars, Shrek, Incredibles, etc.

They said this looks absolutely terrible and have no desire to see this or any Pixar movie in the last 10 years or in the future.

The name is dumb, the eyepatch looks dumb, the concept is not really compelling, and The Pixar brand ain't what it used to be.

Financially Pixar has done fine. But the creative is just lacking.

Took the kids to see it last night. The kids enjoyed it and the movie was better than I expected, but at best, it is a middle of the road Pixar movie.

Wait, I legit have never even heard of this movie before this thread. Did they just not market it at all?

No but animation is very expensive for whatever reason.

Did you even Inside Out 2? It was the highest grossing movie of the year last year.

I’ve actually seen a number of trailers for this, but it just doesn’t look any good.
Exactly. They run them all over the ESPN networks. I'm tired of Taco Bell advertising chicken, and I'l tired of the weird kid on those previews.

They delayed its release a year and then gave it the very light marketing treatment.

This was a dumping.

Seems like things fell off about the time Andrew Staton had a "me too" issue.

It's so bad, they might close the studio (fold it into Disney animation, I suppose).

That's pretty bad.

Even that is just a big drop in quality compared to the first one and the traditional Pixar movies everyone loves. They’ve just lost their fastball lately.

How could they have made movies like JAWS or series like Stargatae that still hold up today on a fraction of the money, but now can't make shi!t unless costs 100X more?

They want to make money, not tell stories.

Every movie has to meet certain metrics with advisory panels.
