Early reactions to "Oppenheimer" out of Paris hail it as audacious, inventive, and complex

The film had its world premiere in Paris (ironically enough) this evening and first reactions out of the screening are immensely positive.

I'll go ahead and say this and take on the downvotes, but I didn't think Matt Damon seemed like a good fit in the trailer. Hopefully I'll be completely wrong. I also wonder how big of an impact not having Hans Zimmer will be. Nolan's movie are all visually stunning, but Interstellar for example would have been a completely different movie without the tone and atmosphere of that score

No Hans Zimmer? That’s suspect

Looks like the pee break will occur during the long sex scenes where we get POV missionary of Cilians arsehole and his balls clapping

I kept getting distracted by my deep desire to punch him in the face. How could his face get more punchable? it did.

Then he did his job. Leslie Groves, the man he is portraying, was on a lot of peoples' hit lists during the Second World War due to his aggressive and domineering personality.

Last Pod Cast on the Left has a great 6 part series on the Manhattan Project. Goves was a massive prick but likely the only person who could have gotten this done. I also had no idea that Germans never really seemed to get their project off the ground.

I only read reviews about movie and tv shows from deplorable peasants (normal people) and not reviews by elite media members

He must play dislikeable people in every movie because i always want to punch him in the face.

It also sounds like the Nazi party couldn't get out of their way either. It opened a door to an area of WWII I had never looked to deep into.

I haven't listened to this pod, but I've read two books on the Manhattan Project. Maybe they covered this, but when news reached Germany that the US had detonated a nuclear bomb over Hiroshima, the Germans were convinced it was propaganda because their program was still in the "is this even possible" phase.

I haven't set foot in a movie theater in probably close to 20 years. My son really, really wants to go see this with me so I'm going to bite the bullet and go see it with him. Are tickets still about $3.50?

Same shite was said about that shitshow Tenet
Can't wait for another confusing movie with shitty sound and dialogue that has Nolan jerking himself on.
Man is a sadist for thinking he's too smart for movie audiences

Its a movie about a real person and factual events, how confusing could he possibly make it? Guess we'll find out.

I didn't think the majority of movie reporters made all that great money, but a whole bunch of these frickers can afford going to see a film in Paris?
