So hyped for this. Looks absolutely incredible

A few things I noticed:
-Stoneburner scene
-Scytale is having Paul make an impossible choice concerning Chani
-They are inserting more of Chani into the movie that what was in the novel (which is what I expected)
-Chani is still antagonistic to Paul for some reason
-Nude Alia scene (though we won't see anything)
I hope we see the Scytale making his offer to Paul the way it was handled in the books. And how Duncan is involved in that scene.
I originally thought they were going to combine Messiah and Children into one movie, but it looks more like its just Messiah from the trailer.
I hope we see the possession of Alia from her Other Memory.
I have a feeling Villeneuve is going to turn this into Chani's movie, and Paul will spend most of it apologizing to her and trying to make things right. Which would be a disappointment.
I'll still be there opening weekend.

I have a hard time seeing this turn into a Chani movie. She's obviously going to have more screen time than she did page time in the book but these have been two really good adaptions. Can't see Villeneuve throwing the faithfulness out of the window.

He did that in the 2nd movie.

Awesome. Soon, we'll be able to get right back to never talking about it.

Disagree.
Perfect? No. Not even LOTR was that. But it was very faithful and kept the spirit of the books. The changes to Chani's character made sense. Much more believable for her to be upset over Paul's choice instead of just being a supporting concubine.

I’ve got a thing for ATJ. Blow me.

He had to make the changes because general audiences are too dumb to realize Paul isn’t a good guy.

You're pissing into the wind on this board. You can never win with these people. Exhibit A: The Dune movies, which are fricking amazing by any imaginable metric, and because its not a shot for shot recreation of the books (which they would also hate), they MUST bitch about something

Sorry, but no. Chani is supposed to be the devoted wife of Paul. Her role is to help him balance between being an Emperor and being the religious leader of the Fremen. She keeps him grounded. Which makes her ultimate fate all the more tragic; it untethers Paul from his destiny.
Plus, Paul has enough on his plate, trying to run the Known Universe, without having to deal with Zendaya scowling at him all the time.

Is this part where you tell us we're "broken people" and need to "seek help"?

Bingo, she’s essential in him keeping his humanity amongst everything that’s happening.

All of this is true. Just can't wrap my brain around the constant misery and trying to make everyone around you miserable.

You and (not so)Fun Bunch are doing a lot of projection here. I've stated multiple times I'm excited for this movie. I'm just discussing what the changes were, what I saw in the trailer, and why I don't believe the changes should have been made. I also discussed parts of the movie I can't wait to see, and my hope of how certain scenes will be portrayed. Are we not supposed to discuss movies on a movie forum? Or are we only allowed to be absolutely giddy in a manner that pleases you and Fun Bunch?

I feel like if Chani were played by someone other than Zendaya I would be less annoyed by the story choices here
I do think that it works better for audiences this way. Or at least potentially could. Dune isn't exactly the most "accessible" thing out there
