It looks like they're setting Cardilleni's character up as the new suspect in the murder.
Yep.

I imagine it's going to take some twists each episode with a new potential suspect or wrinkle being thrown in.
Also yep. I suspect Bateman's wife will be a suspect sooner or later.
Even though there have been WAY too many dick pics, it still has enough random awkward scenarios to make me laugh. Cardilleni randomly moonlighting as an umpire...which is Harbour's turnoff. Harbour taking hip-hop dance classes to perform for deaf people at an (apparently) gay rap concern. The goofy bike that Bateman's character rides. I like random dumb things thrown into what are otherwise serious circumstances.

Jason Bateman plays the same person in everything he’s in, but when I think about how many different movies/shows he’s been in, it’s remarkable how wide ranging that same character is.
Reminds me of some instagram account that came up in my feed whose whole schtick was Claire Danes doing mundane things and sounding like Claire Danes.
Edit: Found it. Still makes me laugh because it's so damned accurate.

I really like the show
Can Linda Cardellini get any hotter? I don’t think I’ve seen such a nice pair on a 52 year old

Loving it so far. I gotta ask……..do deaf people go to concerts?

I think it’s more common to see him at concerts versus next to a weather guy lol. I can’t believe that’s the position they came up with.
I also laughed out loud when she got a side gig as a umpire of all things

They do, actually! At concerts, they can actually feel the vibrations of the music. The Grateful Dead had a pretty significant deaf fanbase (Deafheads, hah), and they had a whole section of the venues dedicated to them so they would enjoy the shows together and be able to sign to each other.
Here's an article about it.
quote:
Not being able to hear the music on stage has never stopped Deaf music fans from attending and enjoying concerts. As we approach our upcoming Dead Reckoning Halloween show, we wanted to look back at the history of Deaf fans of the Grateful Dead.
Deaf Grateful Dead fans, or Deafheads as they are sometimes called, came on the scene in the 1980s at Grateful Dead shows in the Washington, DC area. This area is home to Gallaudet University, the world’s first school for the advanced education of the deaf and hard of hearing. Deafheads worked with venues, promoters, and even Grateful Dead soundman Dan Healy to establish zones with enough space for them to sign to each other and enjoy the show. In recent years, thanks to Deaf fans advocating and lobbying for greater accessibility at concerts, promoters even established a Deaf Zone at a concert at Soldier Field in Chicago.
A 2015 Wall Street Journal article by John Jurgensen details what it was like inside the Deaf Zone.
“Concert organizers had gated off on the stadium floor about 60 yards from the stage, three sign language interpreters worked in rotation, translating the meaning of songs from “China Cat Sunflower” to “Truckin.’”
A sign marking the location of the Deaf Zone at a Grateful Dead show
“Facing the audience, some of whom held balloons that helped catch the sound pulses in the air, the interpreters took turns standing on a lighted platform, moving their hands and arms with fluid messages. They glanced down at song lyrics on a tablet computer and wore headphones plugged directly into a vocal mix from the band’s soundboard. Next to the interpreter’s podium was a 55-inch video screen featuring close-up views of the musicians, allowing the Deaf Zone fans to better see their faces and, for some, to read their lips.”

Would it be possible for Bateman's wife and Cardellini's seemingly-autistic jackwad of a kid to team up to kill Floyd?

Not that I know of. She's fire in everything she's in.

When interviewing Bateman’s character in last ep didn’t the old detective call it his “nerd bike”?

Yeh they are setting up the dysfunctional kid storyline for something down the road.
It probably wasn't even Bateman on the bike in the video.

Enjoying it so far. The detective being an old white idiot is something that they just had to throw in there

Good point. You know the black female is going to solve it.

Correct. We don't have answers as to why he bought two of them, yet. (Or why Floyd's wang has a swerve in it).

The only guy that I ever knew who owned a recumbent bike gave off legit serial killer vibes.

The goofy bike that Bateman's character rides.
The show is a little too depressing to start off but there’s some really funny shite in it too that will keep me watching. Friendship seemed to have humor in even the dark moments whereas this one just seems to be dark and then humor thrown in if that makes sense.

I love HBO shows but they have the tendency to throw some stuff in the mix like that.
Damn you're right and that was 2008

Oh dang he's 78. Probably not a lot of 78 year old detectives running around.

The lead in to first episode, for me at least, was an add for peyronie's disease treatment. I thought, that’s odd. Are there that many people with a crooked dick? Then the first episode leaves a cliffhanger as to how Floyd got a crooked dick.
Again, random silliness in an otherwise serious show
