What would you compare this to?

I think someone compared it to the recent movie Friendship from A23. It definitely has that vibe and tone.

A lot of people also saying it’s similar to one of the director’s other shows, Patriot. I haven’t watched it, so don’t know. Very dark, deadpan humor mixed with suspense/mystery.

Yea, Bateman has been playing the same person for years now. Same expression, mannerisms, deadpan...

Enjoyed the first episode. Wife and I were cracking up at the being turned off by the umpire gear part

SPOILERS

So it’s obviously not going to be as cut and dry as the ending of ep 1 makes it out to be. I’m guessing Harbour is going to be ok with Bateman fricking his wife and they’re going to come to some kind of arrangement involving the app. I sense lots of weirdness throughout and I’m in

Bateman only really has one range but he does it extremely well. I loved his characters in Ozark and Black Rabbit

Bump- just watched Ep. 1. It’s a little awkward, I’m sure on purpose, but I liked it. We’ll keep watching.

ETA: did anyone else get the idea that the Playgirl spread was him? Or maybe that he wished it was him? The face was scratched out, but what still showed up kind of looked like it could have been him in a past life or something.

Completely untrue. The only “report” of any of this was in the same Daily Mail article.

She literally hung out with him on her 22nd birthday in February. Thats not something you do if you have to have an on set monitor.

I was very interested in the show because I was a huge fan of Patriot, the original show from the creator of this series.

I did NOT know this. I will definitely be watching it now. Patriot, and the even shorter lived Perpetual Grace Ltd, are both excellent, and deserved a full run.

Really enjoying this show. And yes.. Harbour is really impressive in this role. The hip hop class and signing at the concert is just next level physical humor.

It looks like they're setting Cardilleni's character up as the new suspect in the murder. I imagine it's going to take some twists each episode with a new potential suspect or wrinkle being thrown in.

I don't see how the weatherman can get out of this. He was Tiger Tiger, had the recent script for the drug. He busted. But that little super detective from the suburbs still out there looking for clues. That would not happen in real life. Cops, lawyers, all of them, they just care about getting that collar. That is it. If they think they have a slam dunk, there are no further investigations going on.

You know why they say if you don't catch a criminal in the first 48 hours, it is exponentially harder to get them, because they are lazy and don't want to put in the work. In two days, they want to make up their mind who they think did it and try to find some way to convict. Sorry, rant On/[Off]

I watched episode 1 and about 20 minutes of episode 2, and then I shut it off. It's not very good.

Yes on both accounts- she is something else.

Jason Bateman plays the same person in everything he’s in, but when I think about how many different movies/shows he’s been in, it’s remarkable how wide ranging that same character is.
