Downton Abbey

Back around Season 3 or 4 of Game of Thrones I talked a friend into watching it. It wasn't really his kind of show but he took a chance and watched a couple of episodes.
He got hooked.
Not long after, he called to thank me for getting him to watch the show. He was loving Ned Stark and Khal Drogo! He couldn't wait for "them to get together and tear shite up".
I asked where he was in the series. He was about halfway through Season 1. I bit my lip and just agreed it would truly be "badass".
We all know how that turned out. He later texted me multiple curse words, all capitalized.
Last night my wife was in the living room watching her new TV addiction: Downton Abbey. Something very similar happened to the exchange above happened, except I didn't have the preface conversation of character-loving nor knowledge of the series' events to prepare me.
She's still so pissed tonight that she refuses to watch the next episode.

The difference being that audiences that stuck with Downton Abbey through the deaths of popular characters were rewarded with better and better seasons through the end.

I did. I don't know anything about the show other than this event and it sounds like a spoiler so I didn't want to get too specific.

I'm a dick because I find it highly amusing that the love of my life, the same woman who rarely gets into a series but says I get too into too many of them, got furious to the point of almost hurling the controller because of getting too into a series?
