This is a 3 part doc about the guy that called fast food places around the country and convinced managers he was a cop and got them to strip search (and worse) young female employees looking for evidence of a "reported" theft.

I haven't started this yet but the story has always fascinated (and horrified) me. Even knowing the story I have a feeling I am going to want to throw stuff at the TV.

Watched it. I don’t remember this at all but could not believe what I was seeing for the first 20 minutes. It kept getting worse (the story, not the documentary).

Thought the documentary was well done.

There was a movie made about this called Compliance with Dreama Walker from Don't Trust the B in Apt 23.

I can't speak to the quality of the movie, but the still frames from it are nice.

I watched it last night. Amazed at how effective this nut job was on the phone to get these people to do what he instructed. Felt terrible for those poor girls and boys who had to go through that.

I may check this out. I'm always amazed that people fell for this shite. I know it was a different time back then, but man it seems like someone at SOME point would be like "Hey, maybe this is bullshite and we should call the cops to verify things."

The poor girl that went through it must have been pretty mentally broken from it. And honestly even the gullible manager(s) who performed it as well (though to a lesser extent I'd imagine).

There were nearly 100 cases. Some were young men

Compliance, the movie based on this is really good.

It had me in disbelief just as much as Human Centipede.

It is almost impossible to believe it’s a true story.

At one point the guy convinces both the boyfriend of the store manager and one of the workers to perform felatio as of it is perfectly normal police procedure.

I havne't seen teh doc, but I can certainly undreestand how a young person in teh heat of a tense situation (even if it's manufactured) may believe he's talking to authorities and is scared shitless so would comply with cer3tain things even if we as outsiders may say "geez look at this guy c'mon".

But honestly you have to be dumb as all frick to do the quoted part ha. In what universe would you think the actual police would demand you do that?

I started watching this and at first I thought the victims were dumb as frick. But, then I realized they were 15-16 year olds and I then felt disgusted wtching this so I turned it off.

I can kind of seehow this would happen back then (espcially in small little towns where they don;t have much crime, etc)

It was good. Worth seeing if anyone is interested in this story.

We live in a world where every day, people are tricked into thinking the IRS takes ITunes cards. Does it make sense? No, but it happens all the time.

Have you seen how police act in tense situations? I sometimes wonder what universe they are in when they are all yelling.

I watched the movie Compliance and I always had suspicion that the boyfriend of the manager knew what was happening was wrong. He made efforts to hide the extent of what was happening from his girlfriend and would have the employee cover up whenever some one else came in the room. They portrayed him as a somewhat pathetic drunk but it seemed like as soon as it was over he knew he was done for and I can't imagine that he didn't know what was happening was wrong and to go along with it I believe he had to have enjoyed it. Messed up story all around.

I’m 1/3 of the way into the first episode and I want to vomit.

I want to see this man dead.

The wildest thing in the show is the judge’s comments about how he hopes that girl learned a lesson and that it was her fault
