Its been 12 years since the 1st one and despite being the highest grossing film ever, it has basically no relevance in pop culture. It comes out next year on the sameday as Aquaman 2 and in a year full of Superhero films.

Do you think audiences will care?

Do I think the sequel to a movie that ripped off a classic tale to use as a vehicle for agenda pushing back then will be successful in 2022? Nope. I’m sure it’ll be pretty though.

The special effects will be state of the art. The story will probably suck, but even the original was just Dances with Wolves in space.

Okay success at first: 1.5 billion

But 3, 4, and 5 will drop off precipitously.

Will be cool to look at. Yeah the story might be a ripoff but it's still fun to watch.

Really depends on the story. Visually it will be special. Not sure where they are going with the story. I enjoyed the first one.

Avatar is so weird.

It was a movie theater spectacle and made so so so much money.

But no one gives one single frick about it. No one remembers it. It has no cultural relevance.

The next one if it ever happens will have to be a technological marvel again to be anything.

It's James Cameron, it'll look amazing and everyone will say it's the most bestest movie ever even though it's shite.

James Cameron doesn't do what James Cameron does for James Cameron.

James Cameron does what James Cameron does because James Cameron is...James Cameron

It will be innovative and look good. Box office can be weird though.

Apparently most of the film is underwater

quote:

each actor had to train with professional divers until they could free dive, holding their breath for minutes at a time. Cameron says 72-year-old Sigourney Weaver, who's returning in a top secret new role after dying in the first film, could easily hold her breath for six and a half minutes, while new cast member Kate Winslet "blew everybody away when she did a seven-and-a-half-minute breath

Sounds miserable

It will do very well, internationally. I still don’t know if audiences here will care. If it does do well here, then over 2 billion

I think it’ll make a shite ton of money no doubt. Do I think it’ll be of high quality? Aesthetically probably yes, but hollow story

Disney didn’t order two sequels with another two waiting in the wings for it if they didn’t think it would be a success.
