The not having a dog in the fight comment was meant as I'm not here to say the casting was right or that the movie is garbage because of it. Just giving my opinion of the movie that I actually saw.
Its a lot weirder for a bunch of grown men to have such strong opinions about a movie they haven't seen. Your doing a lot of mental gymnastics to spin the movie into something it isn't. Its just a princess movie.

Like politics there’s denial on both sides here:
Gadot’s service/pro-Israel comments have made left wing extremists not want to see it and dive bomb reviews without seeing it (or lead to bias in media reviews)
Zegler’s comments have led to right wing extremists dive bombing reviews and some families are not willing to take their daughter to “subject” them to all the woke stuff this movie may or may not have.
I’ll probably see the movie by the end of next week but this just seems to be a bad combo of things that people use their confirmation bias to say why it is bad.

Gadot didn’t say anything inflammatory, she made comments about the hostages and they weren’t related to the press tour at all. Zegler made ALL her comments during the junkets. Yes Gadot had to serve because that’s where she’s from, so what?

Guys. I’m not saying that Zegler is right and Gadot is wrong. I’m far far more on Gadot’s side here. Im saying that makes an impact on things like IMDB which currently has it has the worst movie of all time and will probably prevent people from seeing it.
Left wing reviews talk about how Gadot was so bad it tanked the movie.
Right wing reviews talk about Zegler-led Snow White’s failures.
It’s ok to think critically about things, even when you disagree with someone and not let your blinding hatred prevent that.
It’s like the right wing version of TDS.

Regardless of her political views, she's an absolute horrid actress. She was best in the first Wonder Woman when she wasn't famous yet and didn't TRY so hard to act.

Her singing is good and she's not the worst thing about the movie, but if a star comes across as grating - politics or not - then they have to expect to turn people away. There's a reason studios used to coach the hell out of people before going out - the "off the cuff" interview styles lately have just made people realize that a lot of these people are either jerks or batshit crazy.

I havent kept up with any of this leading up to it. Saw a random IG short of her interactions with the press mashed up. She comes across like the most bitchy pain in the arse actress possible while bashing the love interest. Nothing to do with politics for me

Normal people care about what their children and children in general see and are influenced by.
who loved Snow White and hears Zegler say "I hope Trump voters never know peace," and they know their parents are Trump voters, or conservative in general because she thinks that about conservatives most likely, that that doesn't create a problem?
It's her current intended audience and how she would influence them that matters.
