I’m sure she was the best woman for the job.

At least they casted a woman

Casting is definitely one of the strengths of the MCU model

The actress doesn’t look wildly different and she may bring the character to life really well. Or may not. Will see once the show airs.

Not sure that obscure character warranted a casting thread but thanks for the Daredevil news. Can’t wait for Born Again.

Uh...she's the Foggy Nelson of the show. They've replaced him and Karen Paige with Kirsten McDuffie. Instead of Nelson & Murdock the law firm is called Murdock & Associates.

Typical, but this is the least of what Woke Disney will do to frick up Daredevil.

They could have at least cast an actress that's good looking.

Not trying to flame, honest to god question here… but what exactly is the problem with this one?

Yes I’m sure.

Despite her role in the show, she’s not some iconic character from the comics like a Prof X or the actual Foggy Nelson. Based on the posted comic illustrations, she’s darker skinned.

Based on the evidence in this thread, she doesn’t look wildly different than the comics and who knows if the actress actually captures the spirit of the character or not as the show hasn’t been released yet.

I’m not woke and I don’t love a lot that Disney has done but I still don’t understand the purpose of the thread unless this is another echo chamber thread that continues to make this board not fun to be on.

Unfortunately the “omg everything is woke “ crowd is unaware they’re just as annoying and dumb as the crowd constantly complaining about the need for more diversity and inclusion in every movie

Hey, it resulted in ridiculous wholesale cultural and industry change for them. I hope it keeps getting mocked and derided at every possible opportunity.

But in this case, I can't wait to see what Woke Disney is going to do with a hero who is white, staunchly Catholic and a lawyer. Throw on top of that the need to destroy something that was actually done well before they bought it, (a new Disney tradition) and only Punisher could be more of a shitshow.

At least I won't be playing mental connect-the-dots with this actress when she's on screen like that other chick.

Misread this. I agree. They will more than likely frick this up when you see what they’re doing to all of the other shows. Look at Mandalorian.

Why no Deborah Ann Woll? She was straight smoke.

I just want them to do Bullseye right. Probably the biggest sociopathic villain in Marvel's stable. Just a serial killer and mass murderer who just happens to have uncanny aim and abilities.

Thin and has great tits and has dark skin like the comics. You can argue butterface but seems accurate to me.

They're so hyper-vigilant on the lookout for "woke" that Op unironically started a thread sarcastically calling out Disney for casting a non-white actress as a non-white character.

Demonstrated by pictures from the comic and the show that clearly shows that the actress is accurately cast from a race/color of features standpoint, but ignores that those same pictures show that Charlie Cox is not a ginger and Matt Murdock is.
