Is she white in the comic?

Is the character named after the late, amazing, black comic/TV writer Dwayne McDuffie? (Keegan-Michael Key's half-brother)

Do we really have a thread complaining about this?

Never understood the hype/love for Daredevil. Never will.

Marvel is and alway will be Xmen and Spiderman and Jack Kirby galactic space opera.

It's a little much to complain about. Hell, this is the same show, but years back:

Did you read any DD from the late 70s/early 80s? Excellent saga from Frank Miller before he went crazy. If you HAVE and you still don't appreciate them, then I don't know what to tell you.

Then don't show an example panel where she has brown skin compared to Matt's white skin.

Interesting character, interesting backstory, interesting conflict between his faith, career and vigilante side-gig, good villains, doesn't rely on stupid superpowers that make him invincible...

I guess it's just what you look for. Daredevil is interesting for the reasons Batman is interesting. It's more realistic action and the stories are more than just "Hey, wait a minute! I summoned a thunderstorm!"

Thin and has great tits and has dark skin like the comics. You can argue butterface but seems accurate to me.

Chick's head is shaped like Ghostface. Built well if you like skinny black chicks named Kirsten. But she doesn't strike me as Kirsten judging by the few comics above.

Not every "non-white" person is black.

Thank you. I was trying to figure out what her face reminded me of.

You're upset because they cast a "black" as a "non-white" character?

Now they have to match the exact skin tone?

I'm not upset at all. Point to me where I've said as much. I'm not familiar with the character from the comics, but black was not my first guess based on the panels shared. I don't really care about this show at all. The MCU lost me this phase and Daredevil ain't bringing me back. I was excited about Secret Invasion but it was a let down.

Bro! Where you been? Did you miss the accusations of colorism with the Lilo and Stitch casting lol

Damn. After doing a little more research I'm pretty confident she's not black in the comics and she's at least half white.

Now queue the folks who act like the casting selection has nothing to do with DEI.

It's a fun game some like to play on here, consistent denial that Hollywood is religiously devoted to woke social dogmas or any other classic leftwing movement/theory.

Every movie/show from Hollywood is chock full of something. Every single one, minus a select few, has left wing political priorities put into them.

Some do it by choice, some do it because the studio/company affiliations force them to do it (ex. GLAAD mandates a percentage of LGBTQ characters, unionization demands, etc.).

Some do it quietly and make it more subversive. Some are very loud and obvious about it.

It's there, so stop denying it. It's always there and always will be as long as the same type of people produce the content.

Obviously you know that this gets discussed when castings are announced. People bitched when Zoe Saldana played Nina Simone. But now that you mention it, the Daredevil actress is a shade and some change darker than the comic strips posted. She also doesn't have European facial features like the comic.

It's been a long time since i watched daredevil. I wish it was still on netflix. It was one of the first netflix shows i remember enjoying it's weird not having it available on there.

Wouldn't think twice about this or have any questions about the quality if it was still on there.

such a good point. Why wasn’t Seth Green cast for this role? More woke BS.
