I'm sorry your freaking inbred South Carolina family was too busy to climb out of the rock they've beeen living under because yall were too busy having sex with each other, pulling rotten teeth, trimming mullets and cutting your acid washed jeans into shorts to see a couple of movies. Don't push your burdens on me man.
This dude brings out my inner ranter.

I suspect GamecocksuckerAlum does not. After thinking about it, I've decided it's obvious that GamecocksuckerAlum is representative of the casual movie fan. He's acknowledged that movies are nothing more than escapist entertainment for him. He is not particularly knowledgeable. He probably doesn't attend the theater very often and then only for what he would call a "blockbuster". It's not his fault that he has no taste and is sort of dull. There are plenty of Americans in the same boat with a particularly high concentration having attended U. of So. Carolina.

For Micheal Bay, the auteur who gave us the shite "Pearl Harbor", to say that a film is crap is pretty scary.Spielberg will supposedly ride herd on the third Transformers.

Who doesn't? Dude is one of the best actors out there. Even if you don't like the movies he's in you have to respect the amount of work the guy puts in behind the scenes for his roles.

Yeah but the casual movie goer doesn't talk down to the film buffs like they are fricking retards either. I am going to give the general movie goer the benefit of the doubt that they are not like GamecockAlum.

Do you really think most high school kids know what Brokeback Mountain is?

yep.

Do you think any of them even knew that Heath Ledger was in it?

yep.

I know a ton of friends who have seen some of his other movies as well.

You are extremely ignorant if you think that more than 30-45 million Americans knew who Heath Ledger was before The Dark Knight just because he was in Brokeback Mountain.

wrong answer. Brokeback Mount. was considered one of the top movies of the year.

Brokeback Mountain made like $90 million. Heath Ledger was nominated for a Leading Actor Oscar for gods sake.

I believe it was also at least nominated for best movie as well/

You are a straight dumbass if you are dumb enough to believe that 30-45 million Americans knew who Heath Ledger was before 2008.

You're right. We are wrong and you must be the only one right.

You really think that just because he was in a gay cowboy movie that everyone knew who he was? Really? REALLY?

what you fail to understand is he was in other movies that we all have seen before Brokeback.

And yet considering that it only made $80 million or so in theaters, less than 10 million saw it in theaters and that's not accounting for repeat viewers.

I know a ton of friends who have seen some of his other movies as well.

So you really believe that a sizable chunk of high school kids are aware of not who Heath Ledger was, but were viewers of Brokeback Mountaint, AND knew that he was in the movie? You live in a bubble if you believe that inner city high school kids of Detroit, Chicago, NYC, Houston, Miami, and Los Angeles knew a damn thing about Heath Ledger or a movie about gay cowboys (did they eat pudding)?

Best =/= popular. The King's Speech didn't do shite at the box office and is nowhere near as popular as say... Avatar.

I never said he wasn't in movies before that you dumbass. Hell I saw The Patriot as well, but I didn't see it for Heath Ledger or give a damn about him being in it. Hell that's like saying that black jheri-curl guy in Avatar is a star just because he was in the biggest movie of all time. How many of you even know that actors name? Hell how many of you even remember the jheri-curl black guy from Avatar?
