re: Did Raimi direct the two worst scenes in comic book movie history?

I liked Spiderman 2 - the rain drops scene didn't really bother me at all.
Spiderman 3 was a complete abortion on every possible level.
The only thing that really bothered me in the first 2 movies was the random New Yorkers on the bridge saving Spiderman's life by throwing miscellaneous pieces of garbage at the Green Goblin.
Come the frick on, I remember being 12 years old and thinking that was completely ridiculous and out of place - it really sucks you out of the story at a critical moment.

Oh please. How many times, and just recently, has there been a storyline like that of Max Dillon's? He solely exists to give Spider-Man something to do while the Harry storyline gains steam. Spider-Man doesn't lose his powers but he falls victim to other dumb modern superhero movie tropes.

I'm talking about how Electro was not simmilar to the Lizard.
But Doc Ock was very similar to GG. Both good men, horrible accident changes them, realize their mistakes, kill themselves.

He was very similar to Edward Nygma from Batman Forever though.

I don't get the continued use of dumb New Yorkers yelling shite at the villain in every Spider-Man movie. Completely agree.
Rain drops didn't bother me but the emo scene was dumb as hell, as was most of Spider-Man 3. ASM2 was pretty solid in my opinion

GG didn't realize his mistake and kill himself, he tried to trick spidey into thinking he was changed and tried to kill spidey with the glider. Spidey was too quick and GG got hit with the glider. GG stayed villian, where Doc managed to fight and gain control over the arms.

Every scene in Catwoman is much worse.

The basketball scene is just so, so bad.

Yeah, I have no gripe with that scene whatsoever. It just shows that Peter is happy being back to where he was, even if he's somewhat conflicted about the bad things going on around him. It is a song choice that makes sense.
The emo scene though, I take as Raimi giving the producers and the studio the "frick You. You wanted this clusterfrick of a film with Venom, the Green Goblin 2, Sandman, Gwen Stacy, and the symbiote storyline. Well bask in it assholes, because this is the best you're going to get." I sort of have a strange appreciation for Spider-Man 3 since Raimi I think gave the studio everything it asked for, while delivering subtle "frick you"s throughout the movie to the studio.

While horrible, Spidey 3 was more of a disappointment than being close to worst ever. Yes emo Spidey scene bordered on embarrassing but even with Emo Spidey the movie was more of a letdown than a total nightmare.
We expect more from Raimi so he takes heat for putting out a crappy movie.
The late Batman movies were nothing more than catchphrases mixed with crappy dialog, directing and effects.
Think I was probably more disappointed in the crapfest that was Daredevil. Sorry to fans of the longer cut, it was still just as horrible as the theatrical release. A terrible film top to bottom. Direction, acting, and plot. Nothing like a costumed super hero movie where every single character in the movie knows the true identity of the hero.
I didn't see Catwoman so I can't pass judgment on that disaster.

Never saw much of a problem with Raimi's Spiderman series. The third one was definitely the worst and kind of unentertaining but the first two, I thought really were very good.
The Amazing Spiderman brought on some new interpretations and effects that I thought were interesting, but I just hate Andrew Garfield so much that I didn't like it. Spiderman is not a whiney hipster. He's a shy nerd like Tobey MAguire.

And honestly, you should watch it simply to see how bad it actually is.
You won't be disappointed.

Not a good movie, but easily better than many, many other POS comic book movies.

I actually chortled the first time I saw it. Terrible, but it was trying to be terrible in a way.

"rain drops keep falling on my head" Peter Parker without powers scene
I actually kind of liked this part. It was cheesy, but SM2 is a great movie and I can accept a cheeseball scene among many good other scenes.

Garfield's version is closer to the comic version. Smartass who messes with thugs and villains. He was actually really smart and used his intelligence when creating the web shooters and magnetizing them to fight Electro.
Also Garfield's Peter is not hipster
