They did it because he’s amazing at deadpan humor: Improvisational comedy.

Weirdly enough, I think he’ll be great in a role like Frank Drebin. Similar to Jon Hamm as the new Fletch. It wasn’t fantastic but it was a solid comedy and homage to the original Fletch movies.

I can't remember how old I was when I first saw Naked Gun, maybe 13, but I've still never laughed at anything as hard as I laughed at that umpire scene when I saw it. Starting at the National Anthem really.

I was 12. Me and a buddy went to see it at our local theater, ended up running into a couple of friends from school, so all four of us watched together. We were rolling from the start - all the shite OJ's character goes through after getting shot, OJ's wife and the long snot string, sexual assault with a concrete dildo...

Ted 2 was a bad movie, but the Liam Neeson Trix scene makes me think this reboot could actually work.

There was a great article posted years ago about this and the filming of it. Almost like one of those "oral history" type articles: Great read.

One of the best and funniest sequences of all time IMO. I always lose my shite when he calls the third strike before the catcher even catches the ball.

Seriously, watch the "improvisational comedy" video I posted above. He absolutely can pull off deadpan comedy.

Don't sleep on Neeson in Derry Girls. He shows up for one episode as a straight-man to the girls' antics (and a cameo in the finale). He's pretty perfect for the Drummond role.

Just leave the fart machine to Nielsen.

Hell, I read the subject title and my brain read it as Leslie Nielson. I was like...isn't he dead

Going from Leslie Nielsen to Liam Neeson won’t be confusing at all

I read Liam Nielson. Thinking they were making a reboot with Leslie's son.

Liam Neeson is very good at deadpan humor so I suspect this might be a decent film

Its a Seth Mcfarlane project and they do comedy well. I loved his cameo in Ted 2 with the Trix cereal.

Now that you’ve all seen the trailer, there’s no chance this isn’t a huge failure, right?

Looks absolutely terrible.

I am looking forward to it, not get why this film is getting so much hate. I really want funny slapstick comedy films to be a thing again.

At least they aren't putting Charlie Sheen in it. Everytime I see him in a new project. I feel that I am getting "Tiger's Blood" ::cough:: HIV. Just by watch it. His old projects don't bother me and I was a huge fan of his in 2 and Half Men.

The Spirit Halloween sign in the trailer had me and my boys laughing for a few mins.

Liam will be fine & they couldn't have chosen a better director.

The baseball game was the best part of the entire movie. I never stop laughing during those scenes.
