You think casting an actress for a major motion picture is as easy as typing in "Make a picture of Athena from The Odyssey" on Bing AI Images? .
Casting is easy. 15 years ago the cast of many movies was comprised of who has sucked off Harvey Weinstein

Charybdis. She used to to a nymph, but is now just a big mouth that swallows up the sea.

I was rethinking if I was off when a few people in this thread said she's great. Glad I am not the only one who sees she sucks.
She's the worst part of the Spiderman movies

Guess it could work if that’s how Athena was in the source material. Been so long I don’t remember.
She served as a mentor, patron, and protector (especially from the other Gods) for Odysseus. So a fairly decent role.
I'm more concerned about her chemistry working with Matt Damon as Odysseus and how that will be reflected then her individual performance itself. Interestingly enough, I think Charlize Theron a few years ago might've been a great fit for this.
I'm more than happy to trust Nolan on this one though. He has a tendency to cast movies well. And given the rest of the cast, it seems silly to criticize Zendaya in this role from her physical appearance if you're not criticizing the appearance of the cast as a whole. If it's a legitimate critique of her acting skills, I can understand that to a degree. I don't think she's as bad of an actress as some portray though.

Skintone aside, Greeks didn't have flat noses and round faces.
Did they look like Matt Damon?

And people will wonder why AI created films will be popular

At least post photos that aren't photoshopped

i'm ambivalent. i don't usually care for the characters she plays, but she is pretty. she just dresses dumpy for a lot of her stuff.

Using a photo where she's purposefully "uglied up" because she's a junkie in high school is certainly something when criticizing someone using a "photoshopped" photo (his top one isn't, it's her in makeup on the red carpet).

There is a difference in photoshop and not wearing makeup. The pic he posted is how she would look getting out of bed. The red carpet is having a $1000/hr stylist and make up artist getting you ready. Pretty close to photoshopping as you get.

She definitely lessens the quality of everything she’s in

I hated her in Dune but that was mainly because they changed the character.

Because Tom Holland is who we picture when we imagine a masculine human being?

And looks the same as the other picture I posted.

Looks, whatever. She has no gravitas. I don't buy her as a powerful being. You need an actress who can walk the line between mother and lover for Odysseus. Think Blanchett from Lord of the Rings.
