"I told those fudge packers I liked Michael Bolton's music."

This defined my last job. So glad to be gone.
Peter Gibbons: The thing is, Bob, it's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care.
Bob Porter: Don't... don't care?
Peter Gibbons: It's a problem of motivation, all right? Now if I work my arse off and Initech ships a few extra units, I don't see another dime, so where's the motivation? And here's something else, Bob: I have eight different bosses right now.
Bob Slydell: I beg your pardon?
Peter Gibbons: Eight bosses.
Bob Slydell: Eight?
Peter Gibbons: Eight, Bob. So that means that when I make a mistake, I have eight different people coming by to tell me about it. That's my only real motivation is not to be hassled, that and the fear of losing my job. But you know, Bob, that will only make someone work just hard enough not to get fired.

If he has it in him, Mike Judge needs to revisit the concept and make an Office Space type movie about the new millenial "open work" spaces with standing desks, treadmill desks, ping pong tables and nap rooms. It's begging to be parodied. (I work in one)
Are you familiar with Silicon Valley?

I absolutely love this movie.
My 16 y/o son does also.

I quote this movie so much in everyday life.

This was on the other night. The garage scene always cracks me up.
"That wife of his comes home early from work.. and as he's looking at her, decides he wants to live."

Can't believe this movie is 19 years old. It still reverberates so well today, maybe even more so.

I relate to this on so many levels. I used to bust my arse at my job. I thought that hard work would be rewarded. It doesn't. Now, I dgaf. I do only as much as I have to to not be fired.

Truly a great movie that captured a meaningful portion of American life. While I was working at a fortune 50 company, I'd come home complaining every day despite the money I was making. My wife always asked me what was wrong. I sat her down and made her watch this movie. It was 100% accurate.

Since it's been brought up twice now I guess I should watch it. I've heard of it just never checked it out.

Probably the finest comedy film since Caddyshack. Every frame and line of dialogue is a work of art. The weakest element of the film was the only "big" star (Anniston) and she was great at times.
Brilliant. It's funny because it's true.
I technically had 8 bosses at 2 different jobs. Made for great jokes with the family.
