re: Dave season 2 on FXX June 16th (some spoilers)

Also, I caught the episode last night. Really liked it a lot. That is what Dave should be about IMO. We got some flashbacks that not only showed us some history with him and Emma, but also where he got some of his confidence from, his creativity, her creativity, etc. And we see her wanting to do more than just film shite for fun. It's so hard not to like Gata. That dude just seems to ooze positivity 100% of the time.
It did suck that Dave was ready to demolish that beat, only for the one dude to change it up. That was brutal watching him struggle with that for several minutes. But in reality he wasn't supposed to have the beat already anyway, so whatever.
And those saying Emma is hotter than Ally are nuts. Maybe body wise, but we haven't really seen hers. But she's damn sure not as pretty as Ally. I wonder what happened to the chick he was supposed to go out with before he blew her off for Doja Cat, and if we'll see her anymore. She looked kinda familiar but I couldn't place her.

Yes. She was gonna blow him off but ended up cancelling on the dude (that matched with Ally) to hang with Dave. Just was wondering if we would see her again, or if that was just a one time date/hookup kinda thing.

Finally got around to last weeks episode. Damn that was strong. Outdid last weeks episode. Seeing past Dave and Emma was cool. But also sad. She seemed to enjoy his present day meltdown.
Cool to see the transformation of happy dude to neurotic failure. But always had that narcissistic tilt to him.
The Dew rap was strong.
Anyone know is that was entirely original and new?

Another solid episode. No overly hilarious moments but I did have a few chuckles. Loved Dave with the straight hair. Also, the hottest girls 2002 search was good.

When this show wants to be good. it’s so damn good.
Ally has the kindest eyes and I really noticed them in her first scene of this episode
Ally’s song was great and watching Mike hear it and enjoy it was a good moment.
I was rooting so hard for Dave and ally to get back together and you could see Dave’s spirit ready to be lifted up or crushed by her reaction to the song .
I hate it for him.

Damn, another solid episode. I’m not gonna lie, I choked up a little when he was playing Ally’s song for Ally. I could see his hope just crash when she reacted to it.
This season has been hard to watch, but it’s definitely done a good job of showing how selfish and narcissistic Dave really is. Hopefully after the interaction with his parents and Ally he’ll be able to realize the mistakes he’s making.

That, IMO
His whole thing is he's had writer's block for a year now, and he feels like he can't create without her in his life. That's my opinion, anyway. He doesn't want her, he wants whatever it is she brings to his creative potential. It's his same self-centered hang up that has manifested throughout the season.
ETA: Also he's a total bitch. He doesn't have it in him to sack up and say, "Hey, I want you." Maybe you win, maybe you lose, but you move forward either way. He got the sense that he would be rejected so he played the friend card to try to wait for a different opportunity. Ship has sailed. Let it go, dude.
