Thinking about how they set up season 3. Do you think the song becomes a smash and his career is taking off? Or were they just at a small club in Delaware where they knew he had an audience?

I thought the 1st act was at the VMAs then it cut to Delaware. Because there was a decent amount before Delaware popped up on the screen and they were in different outfits I think. The stage looked similar to the VMAs. I could be wrong though.

You really saw Dave’s character development all season come to a head at the end of this episode. What a finale!

Man me too. I kept thinking to myself oh no oh no, I thought for sure Gata was somewhere else about to off himself and then he rises up. Great ending

I thought the season started off slow, but it picked up steam in the second half and the finale was strong. Gata's a pretty solid actor.

The last 2 episodes were exceptional. Really great finish after kind of a slow start.

I think this is what we’re supposed to assume. They had the conversation right before he went on stage about the manager not being able to go on the tour. So i thinks safe to assume he’s on tour and they showed Delaware because of the comment earlier in the episode about Delaware being weirdly one of the places his album sold really well

I’d say the last 3 episodes as well. The one with his parents and playing the song for Ally. This was some exceptional writing man. He knocked it out of the park.

I thought the entire 2nd half of the season was phenomenal.

Definitely didn’t have as much comedy as season 1 because it was a darker type of season, but that 2nd half was top notch television.

Agree. Season finale was one of the best episodes of either season.

Finally finished the finale. Good episode.

It’s so crazy that Gata is the most air-headed idiot on the show, yet also the wisest and most intelligent too sometimes. The shite he hit Dicky with in his house was not only raw and real, but 100% on point too. Man, he’s such a great character. And their argument was great because they both had legitimate good points. But their personalities had them arguing in completely different ways. This show has done that well with the both of them.

I don’t like how it skips forward in time though. That’s a little annoying.

Ally and some new dude. Ouch.

Good to see Dave show appreciation for his friends though. That was a nice little scene. Shows he progressed from 100% ego to having some sympathy for how he acted and some true catharsis and appreciation for the people that helped get him there.

That ending was weird. So were they actually on the award show? Or was it like a dream in tune with the Delaware show? And what was the deal with Mike?

Loved him and Gata performing together though. That was great. And I just realized that the song at the end was a remake of the “I’m good” song Gata was singing at the beginning of the episode. So I’m assuming Dicky went into Gata's little studio and listened to it and then worked with him on it and made it into "We good."

This season really rebounded after the first half or so.

The first half really set up the second half. Without using the different ways to show that Dave was a raging narcissist, I don't think we get the payoff that you're spot on with in the first quote.

What a fricking ending. The beats were all dope. I still want a full version of the Hairless Dave’s first beat from last episode.

Gata was fire this episode. Such a well written and acted role.

As for the VMAs.

Mike says the doctor is all good and Els says he can call a Manning audible. I think he called the audible. I don’t think Gata was planned until the last minute?

I don't disagree with you in theory, but the first half was overly done and borderline bad IMO. I mean, the entire "Chuck" episode could have pretty much bee erased and it would've changed nothing from the season. There were also other parts here and there that were unnecessary as well. They don't have to beat us in the head over and over (and fricking over) to make the point that Dave was a huge narcissist. The first half of the season was not good (comparatively).

And man, oh man, I never once thought Gata was gonna off himself. That would've legit upset me, and I'm glad I didn't think about that. After that one episode earlier where he was roaming around and I contemplated him getting killed, I assumed Gata is here to stay for the long run.

And it was such a great pivot at the end with Gata crying and it ends up being tears of joy because he's about to rip it up on stage with LD. That was such a great scene.

If I had a hype man like Gata, I’d think there wasn’t a thing I could fail at. He and NoHo Hank have been the best new original supporting characters in awhile.

I think he walked out without ever going into the makeshift studio but I believe they did perform at the VMA's together. After their argument and him seeing his makeshift studio, you see him look inside the studio and he has this look of compassion and sympathy. I think they talked it out after that off screen and then it jumps to them performing together and then jumps again to them on tour together. Now as far as mike goes, I don't know what is going on there. I know earlier in the season he discussed branching out and entertaining some more clients. So maybe he is taking a job somewhere?
