But she survived! And remember the rape charge/blackmail stuff was in tainted alternate worlds. Now there is no Ulrich or Nielsens for that matter. Unfortunately not even the lovely Martha.

Survive doesn't mean all the nice people made it.
Did they ever explain Alexander's story of murder? I mean, he said he killed , but .... why?

And I was more attracted to the redhead magnus was with.

And good ole Agnes.

Both good choices. I saw the appeal in them also. I won't argue.

Did anyone else think for a while that Peter was going to end up being Egon and Hannah’s child? When he showed up in the scene where he met Charlotte at the bus station he mentioned his mom died (I think) and told him who his father was and he was there to meet him. I thought they were going to throw in some twist there but they kept with the Helge option.

To be honest I didn’t. This show is too complicated for my feeble mind. But I got out in front of my wife watching this so I get to repeat Es 2-8 soon. I rewatched E8 already and shed even more tears.

This happened in a world that doesn’t actually exist, and happened because she became obsessed with a person that doesn’t exist in the origin world.

Worlds that don’t exist with people who don’t exist.

I think it was pretty clear that her obsession with Ulrich is what drove her mad in the alternate worlds. He doesn’t exist in the origin world.

Here's the S3 map

I had to hunt it down to understand why a previous poster thought there would be no Ulrich in the origin world.

To save others the time... Ulrich's mother is Agnes, the daughter of Silja and Bartosz after Bartosz goes back in time and lives his life in the past. In the origin world Bartosz never gets the opportunity to go back in time thus Ulrich is never born.

I agree with the sentiments of others, this has to be the best ending to a scifi show that I can remember. They held back on Claudia's machinations and the origin world until the very end (but the clue of 3 was always there, we just never knew it) and it made sense.

Well freaking done.

Plus I read her different colored eyes were a hint in her living in different worlds..

Crazy layered story

I love the ending of this show. I've watched the part of the show again when Jonas snatches alt Martha and takes her away from Bartoz, Magnus and Franziska. She doesn't know what the hell happened and she really has no desire to disappear into the night sky. But ole Jonas convinces her to do it. And it is a wonderful watch as she/Jonas comes to the realization they will be no more.

Watched S3 in a span of 14 hours when it dropped, and my first reaction to the ending was "pretty good". One thing that irked me a bit at first was the revelation of a third world at the beginning of the last episode felt like a little bit of a cop out and sprung out of nowhere.

I didn't do a rewatch of the show beforehand. Working my way from the beginning. In S1 ep 7 or 8, Tannhaus gives a monologue about how people only think in dualities, but that a third dimension must exist. The trifecta. The writers worked the ending of the show into the beginning and I had completely forgotten that. The ending really was about perfect.

Damn, I'm gonna miss this show. I like mindless tv, but I've never watched a show that had me wracking my brain after every episode like this one (Leftovers would be up there to). I wish I would have watched every season one or two episodes per day instead of binging them

S1: 9.5
S2: 10 (might be best stretch of a season ever)
S3: 9.5 (only because I think the material could've been 10 episodes)

Watched an interview of a number of the members of the cast. They liked making it as much as you liked watching it. And a couple of them were so emotional they cried that it was over. In fact the last scene filmed was the Jonas/Martha disappear into the sky scene. When finished Louis and Lisa walked over to the crew and cried like babies for a while. This was a big deal in Germany as it spread across the globe. But the Adam character was glad it was over as he spent 4 1/2 to 5 hours a morning in makeup before they shot. Luckily he was in limited numbers of episodes.

The casting in the show is incredible. I always thought old Ulrich was Ulrich in makeup. Nope, two different actors

Yeah , they did an awesome job of finding older and younger versions..

They only thought in the back of my mind was .. "how did Martha keep those bangs the whole time?! Women never do that!"

But I know it was to help the viewer.

Anna Wintour has had the same look with shot hair and bangs since the 70s and she's a fashion icon.

Just finished and I agree they throw a ton of stuff at you for season 3 so you don’t connect with the alt universe characters as much as the characters from the 1st two season but other than that it was a great series with a great ending that was able to wrap up/explain everything in a way that wasn’t completely ridiculous.

Side note: I see a lot of people asking about the people disappearing at the end. Those people were from the 2 different alt universes. There is still a Claudia and most others in the original universe even though they weren’t shown at the end

Not sure about that.. how I took it was everyone that was born as a result of time travel was erased from all worlds once the loop was broken

No Claudia (Eva) got killed by Claudia (Adam) and Claudia (Adam) convinced both Eva and Adam she was working for them. Actually most of the characters disappeared. Correct me if I'm wrong but anyone who traveled is but a whisp in the night sky. Anyone spawned from anyone who time traveled is gone. So to cut to the chase, the sole surviving Claudia is gone. I saw her disappear. Unless you can put another Claudia in the loop. And this is possible because there was only one Jonas and he was in the Adam world. He was killed in the Eva world but because the the switcharoo from alt Martha saving him at the end of S2 and Bartoz stopping alt Martha from saving him in late S3 (he hid in the basement), Jonas (Adam's world) had two copies or realities out there?? Does any of this make sense??

Edit: I went to look for the family tree for the end of the show and I linked it. But in the show most everyone disappears including Claudia. But at least one article stated a version of Claudia had to remain or Regina would not have been born and hence in the final, final scene. In the tree, Claudia is in all worlds so I don't understand why she disappeared into the air. And with that I really need to close down my even thinking about this show anymore.

Tree

I’m talking about the Claudia in the origin world. The other two claudias are gone but the one in the origin world that isn’t shown at all in the series would be alive since there is a Regina at the end right? How else would there have been a Regina if there wasn’t a Claudia to have her?
