Late to this thread, but i just finished season 3. I liked it, but my general feelings are captured perfectly by whomever said this somewhere around page 2.
In a way i almost felt like all the different versions of the same people and "they're actually trying to prevent/ cause it from happening" became a parody of itself. I honestly couldn't even remember who was in favor of the knot and apocalypse and who wasn't, and lost track of who was on which side. I know that confusion was what Claudia was going for to get to that point in the finale, but damn.
Side note, I cannot even imagine how the writers planned out and put this story together. Making it all make sense and not contradict itself. Unreal.

The first two seasons were confusing, but if you pay attention, you can follow along with everything that is happening. Season 3, there is so much shite going on, it’s really a problem.
I was annoyed at all the different versions of characters telling Jonas and Martha, “believe me, this is how we change things, or end things”. Character motivations and who they were working for was a chore to follow.

Eva’s world was for preservation of the knot. Adam’s world was for destruction. And there are multiple versions of people because of multiple realities. Hence three Jonas’ and three Martha’s. What’s so tedious or difficult about that?

I think at the end of the show they are gone. Nobody and nothing is left in either alternate world. Anyone who doesn't fizz away (not related to the four families) reverts to the Origin World. I'm not sure if that is what you mean. Do you think anyone survives in Eva's world? Once I finish a rewatch of S3 with my wife, I'm done with Dark for good.
Yes it is everyone who was conceived due to time travel didn't exist anymore. The ones at the dinner table existed without any time frickery.
I recently finished this. Season 3 was hard to follow at times but still entertaining. Got frustrated through parts and would just be like "welp let's see where this goes". Seasons 1 and 2 were outstanding and while I did not enjoy 3 as much I think they stuck the landing well

You're right. Three different worlds, three different versions of people traveling between those worlds, at about 8 different times/ages in history across those three worlds with shifting associations and understandings of what was what...how could anyone get confused?
Also, this is not true:
quote:
Eva’s world was for preservation of the knot. Adam’s world was for destruction
The Martha from the other world helps Jonas end the knot once and for all in the last episode.

I am correct. I said Eva and not alt Martha. Jonas version 3 (saved by Adam at the apocalypse) along with a version alt Martha 2 (did not save Jonas 1 at the apocalypse) were the two to untie the knot. Remember this version of Jonas did not know or had not seen alt Martha of either version.
Dark is the best and it took me watching some of the scenes more than twice to get it. Europeans got it in one watching and they think we are stupid over here in the good ole USA.
