Just finished the season. Not sure I came away feeling “possible greatest finale to any sci-if show” like i saw posted somewhere. It was good but I think they could’ve done another season the whole concept of “worlds” was introduced very quickly with broad strokes and the conclusion suffers from this as well. At least 10 episodes instead of 8 would’ve made it really a 5/5. Don’t want to spoil too much yet I realize most people haven’t finished it.

A buddy of mine binged the entire season the second it dropped this morning. He said the same things you did. He gave it an 8/10. He texted me a few hours later saying he appreciates it more knowing they didn’t want to prolong things and overstay their welcome. He changed his rating to 9/10. He said he thinks the further removed from it, the more he’ll appreciate it.

He said it’s 3 of the best drama seasons he’s seen in succession.

Was going to start it tonight but decided to do a rewatch to get the full effect since this is one of my favorite series of all time

I wish I did a rewatch, I felt so lost on some of the side stories and confused who people were that I forgot. There was so much to this show for how little episodes in 2 seasons.

Finished the season already, I'm iffy about the ending. It was ok. Wished they did a bit more with the ending, but it was ok, it wasn't bad. Sad this show was so short.

I feel like with any time travel show it’s going to be hard to nail the ending everyone wants. I hope I’m not disappointed in it but I wish more series would take the route dark did. Have a story and a set number of seasons to complete the story. So many other series just drag on and on until people end up stop watching it all together

I finished it this afternoon. I thought the season was great. The first few episodes were information overload, it took till about episode 3 to where I wasn't hammering the replay button. In that sense I think the show could benefitted from a few more episodes.

Endings to shows like these are always going to be tricky and contentious (looking at you GOT). I think every viewer has in their mind what they would like the final result to be, but not many put thought into how to logically reach that conclusion, if that makes sense.

The writers clearly knew how they wanted the series to end and did a great job of tying everything up and reaching the end in a manner that fit the rest of the story. It was never going to be a perfect ending, but I left feeling satisfied by the whole season

I'll agree with that.

Sppiler-ish:
I think the greatness of seasons 1-2 has a lot to do with how you felt for all the characters through their journeys. A lot of that was missing in this last season. That said, when it was there, it was fantastic (Elisabeth's story, holy shite).

Semi-spoiler:

I thought the end was too explained. Wish we could have seen her come to that conclusion rather than just tell us.

Haven’t read this thread in fear of spoilers, but this is the kind of show I wish Netflix would do a weekly release with so each episode could be discussed one at a time. I’m thru 2 so far for this last season

Spoilers maybe

I very well may have missed it but was their ability to travel between worlds ever explained? For a show that had spent a good deal of time setting up why and when and how time travel is possible I thought it was strange to never explain this.

One thing I forgot during the rewatch was just how amazing the soundtrack is. The songs are matched perfect with the tone of the scenes

I’m just starting season 2. Can I use that map on first post and it not spoil things?

I guess my big disappointment with the ending was more the epilogue portion. I kinda felt like there could of been more there. That's a dangerous place to mess with though cause if you put too much, it can get bad easy.

SPOILERS

Great question. I just assumed that after time both sides figured out that there were two worlds and the smaller complex device enabled travelers to move in between as well as backwards and forwards in time.

It should have been obvious that Claudia (white devil) would be the one who taught Adam how to destroy his and Eva’s worlds. H.G. Tannebaum was the origin all along.

The songs are amazing, and how they mix into montages furthering the story is one of my favorite things about the series

No spoilers. Honestly I'm half way through the final season... I just dont understand how they are possibly going to wrap this up in 4 more episodes. I feel like there could have easily been another season...

Although if they had another season they probably would have went further and further into frickery that they wouldn't have been able to dig their way out. I know what is going on(helps I read the reddit thread of each episode after to seeing anything I may have missed), but also am lost as frick at the same time. I don't really understand the reasoning for any of the people in charge doing anything. Hopefully I get that. Maybe not though. I also come away from like every couple episodes with a new good guy and new bad guy. Which makes it extremely confusing

Finished season 3 yesterday so I've had a bit of time to process it. Loved the show overall and the production quality and track was great. I found myself a little less glued to the screen in episodes 2-4 of this season just because I was exhausted from trying to keep up. Despite that I was still into it and couldn't wait for the resolution at the end.

I think as time goes on and I come back to read and review the show again I will appreciate it more, not less.

I loved S3 just as much as 1 and 2. The ending was satisfying and not ridiculous. How many different men did Hannah get knocked up by throughout the series?

I agree with these statements. Reflecting on things a couple of days later, I think they got the ending right. It was the only way possible to wrap everything up and it make sense and not upset a lot of people. The ending left me very sad but in a good way. I think that’s what they were aiming for.

ETA: Did anyone else notice that Martha put on a good bit of weight between seasons 1-3?

Finished it last night. A solid ending to a great show. It was as confusing as hell though because I couldn't remember all of the characters even after watching 20-30 minutes worth of recaps to prepare for the final season. I'd give the whole series an 8.5/10.

I think it was partly the change in hair style. I didn't really notice a significant change in weight. I guess she was supposed to be pregnant through much of season 3 though, so maybe I sort of expected it.
