Dark Matter Season 2 follows the Dessen family trying to settle into a peaceful new life before Jason’s obsession with the Box and an influx of alternate Jasons throw the multiverse into chaos
It will be interesting to see where they go this season since they used up the source material for season 1. From what I’ve read, the showrunners have a 3-season plan for the show.
Like all Apple shows, the episodes will drop at 8pm the night before the advertised date. I went ahead and put the actual dates below.
Episode 1: August 27, 2026
Episode 2: September 3, 2026
Episode 3: September 10, 2026
Episode 4: September 17, 2026
Episode 5: September 24, 2026
Episode 6: October 1 2026
Episode 7: October 8, 2026
Episode 8: October 15, 2026
Episode 9: October 22, 2026
Episode 10 (Finale): October 29, 2026

Man, I tried with this show, but once all the multiple Jasons showed up I was done.

The first season was great, but multiple Jasons is the premise of the show, so I can’t recommend giving it another shot if you didn’t like that aspect. Plenty of other quality sci-fi on Apple though, with the exception of Invasion. Don’t waste your time with that one.

How is this show? The concept of the book was interesting, but I felt like the execution was kind of meh.

Loved this show but the finale was slightly disappointing just because it got a bit outrageous.
Looking forward to season two.
There's only one book though right? So this will be all original for the showrunners I think.

Book was pretty good... a bit bare in spots.... Recursion was a far better book and I think would make for a good series

Correct. The showrunners have a plan to end with season 3 so at least they aren’t making it up as they go. I’m hopefully optimistic that it will turn out well.

That's Blake Crouch. Wayward Pines trilogy was the same way. Cool concept. Enjoyed the books, but felt like something was missing.

I’m giving S1 a try. Somehow this didn’t hit my radar.
Not loving it so far. Shot very dark, ominous tones, fully expecting bad things to happen at almost any moment. Nice cast, but it’s coming off very AppleTV like. Slow, well done if not artsy visuals… Early impression I’m getting is Counterpart vibes.

If I could save one show from cancellation, it would be Counterpart. This show has similarities, but far less focus on the espionage and more on the sci-fi.

What little I know about Dark Matter is that it’s a mysterious cosmological concept that has nothing to do with quantum superposition.
The name of the series at face value is confusing.
