So he didnt literally say it was racism. He literally said no it wasnt.
How are you going to completely ignore the back end of the quote which is what the poster here is referring to.
“Only in the sense that everything is.”
All the “no no” was referring to was he didn’t think it was particularly more racist than the baseline, but everything is racist and exploitative to a degree.

You must have done terrible on the SAT reading comprehension section.
No was his answer. If "he" thought everything was colonialism then of course he wouldve answered yes that his movie was.
Then he acknowledged that perhaps under some people's definition/sense of colonialism (everything is colonialism) it could be a form. I think the actual reason you have a problem with what he said is that you dont subscribe to that concept of colonialism and seeing it acknowledged is validating it in your view.

Let me guess... Poli boarder?
Edit: boom, right again! It never fails.
If you wanna discuss the concept of colonialism and its validity go do it on the poli board. Its a made up concept with no real meaning that everyone can agree with anyway

If he truly thinks this then cut a check for all the money he made from that movie to India or Indian “charities”. It’s pretty simple.

Lol fricking what??
They used Indian actors in an Indian movie. What appropriation was there? That movie was amazing.

His statement really makes no sense because the movie was aimed at Western audiences anyway. Having an English director made the movie better for the intended audience.

I didnt hijack it. One of your poli board bros did when they jumped in and started claiming racism like they do in every thread.

Never forget that Boyle directed the 2012 London Olympics opening ceremony with this satanic shite in it. He's totally compromised and will say whatever his masters tell him.

So does this mean Bollywood is culturally appropriating Hollywood?
To some extent yeah. I’m Indian. I’ve seen a lot of Bollywood (and the other Indian movie studios that people confuse for Bollywood) movies straight up copy so many Hollywood movies. I’m talking about scene for scene in some cases. Some of the most popular recent Bollywood movies are very westernized compared to ones from the early 2000s and before

I guess there may be more Indian directors currently working in hollywood than when he made it so that could make sense. But him making the movie didnt stop any Indian directors from making their own movie so it still weird

So suddenly the London Olympics opening ceremony wasn't one of the best ones ever? The one with James Bond and the actual Queen, Paul McCartney, and the Spice Girls strapped to taxi cabs as they screamed around the stadium?
The "satanic theme" and the "promoting the Covid pandemic 8 years before it happened" bullshite was their tribute to their national healthcare system, which they've always been proud of. You might as well go back and cancel Michael Crichton for writing The Andromeda Strain back in the 60's.
