I would cast off almost all of the Disney+ content, and I would retcon or just sort of blackhole a lot of 7-9. I understand that's a bit counterintuitive and hard to do given, well, its Rey, but frick it. Make your own film that respects canon but is a little fast and loose with anything not episodes 1-6.
Disney fricked everything up with 7-9 when they had Thrawn and all the EU stuff to pull from. Rebels hadn't premiered yet when Ep 7 went into production, so they could have written that show's ending to be set around the Empire's defeat and Thrawn going into exile. Then set him up to be the big bad guy for the sequel trilogy. Episode 7 could've been him secretly being behind Imperial remnants rebuilding and remilitarizing in the outer rim and ended with his grand return leading into Episode 8. Ahsoka could have been cast as the main protagonist and fans would've loved it while Disney got to have their girl power in the series.

They killed the franchise with TLJ. Book of Boba Fett was a kick to the dead corpse. The Acolyte is dousing the copse in gasoline. Episode X will be the match.

Yea TLJ killed it which is why Solo did bad. TROS pissed on the franchise & the Acolyte dug up the body and cut its decomposed dick off.

TFA was average but setup the sequel trilogy well leaving us wondering about the mystique surrounding Snoke and seeing Luke teased at the end. We all know what happened after that.

She probably a good director but has only done animated shows and documentaries to this point.

Despite being an unmitigated shill, even you don't believe this.

I honestly have no idea about her acting skills. Being Rey doesn’t demand much.

She’s been in other movies and has be good from what I’ve seen.

You don’t think her documentaries are good? I have never seen them but she’s won awards so i said “probably” and then pointed out she doesn’t really make scripted movies.

I dont get how anyone read that and came away thinking I endorsed her hiring as a director for this project

I bet the idea is that Rey will start gathering up all of the force sensitive characters Disney has been setting up: Grogu, Ezra Bridger, Omega, the guy from the latest video games, etc.

This Star Wars DEI is like like watching what killed the WCW when they gave David Arquette the heavyweight title. Nobody wants it

Star Wars nerds are the only reason Star Wars became the phenomenon it did. You had people so dedicated to the story that they built their lives around it. Without them, there would be no Star Wars franchise. That Disney is actively pushing those fans away at every turn is absolutely mind boggling.
