re: Curb is better than Seinfeld

Larry is a genius. The way he put stories together in both shows was amazing. Both shows are some of best of all time but if I to pick I would take Curb. From episode one to the ending in Paris it was top notch. The last season with Micheal J Fox killed. Wished it would have continued.

Wish I could upvote more than once.

Does anyone actually dispute this?
Of course. It's wrong. There are individual episodes of Curb that would rightfully be included in a combined top 10 list of the 2 shows, but overall, Seinfeld is better.
Curb was brilliant the first 3 seasons - with the season 3 finale being the actual best episode. But 4 started a decent-sized drought where it seemed forced and just too over the top. It picked up several times in the latter seasons, but never regained the same steam.
To be clear - I love LD and believe he was really the motive force behind both. But Seinfeld is just better. The 1992-93 season which featured the NBC storyline and the Jerry pilot is the absolutely, top of the heap brilliance. It was meta before meta was a thing. It is so layered and nuanced that I still am in awe of it. Curb just doesn't have that.

Not for me. Larry David or at least his character puts me off. No way I'd want to be around him irl.

Impossible to compare the two.
Seinfeld was on regular TV, Curb is on HBO. With no limits or censors. It's basically just Seinfeld in HBO.

I like Curb a lot more but you can't just ignore the huge advantage it gets being on HBO. I also think it benefits from being a more modern tv show especially with younger audiences.

Having some solid episodes(most of those you listed are lackluster in comparison to later Seinfeld) is hardly a rousing endorsement for those seasons' greatness.
You didn't say those seasons weren't great, you said they were weak. Season Two is only 12 episodes long and yet it contains:
The Jacket
The Phone Message
The Revenge
The Heart Attack
The Chinese Restaurant
The Busboy
Those are six very strong episodes. Six out of twelve. That's not a weak season by any stretch of the imagination.
Season Three had some really strong episodes, too:
The Library
The Parking Garage
The Tape
The Nose Job
The Pez Dispenser
The Fix-Up
The Boyfriend/The New Friend
The Limo
The Parking Space
The Keys
That's 10 very solid episodes off the top of my head out of the 23 episodes of Season Three.
Once again....not weak.

With Curb, as great as it is, it's the same old thing in every episode and I can't binge more than 2-3 at a time then I have to leave the show alone for a few days.
First 10 min: Larry finds himself in a situation
Next 10 min: Larry totally screws up the situation
Last 10 min: Larry pays price for screwing up situation
Yep. Curb is hilarious but this keeps it from GOAT status.

You described every sitcom ever and most comedy movies.

This is the only answer. Two different shows with two sets of limitations. Both are brilliant.

It's a bit unfair tho for Seinfeld since it was on basic cable and not HBO. Curb didn't have the limitations Seinfeld had

I've always thought the later seasons of Seinfeld were much better. How can you beat George's answering machine or the talking belly button or "Serenity now!"

both are great but I like Seinfeld much more.
However I like Arrested Development more than Seinfeld.

It's not really a fair comparison.
the two are one in the same essentially. LD was able to make Curb dirtier due to the fact that it was on HBO instead of NBC. With Seinfeld being on NBC, they were limited on topics and language.
Both shows are great.

As funny as Curb can be, it's also the nost frustrating TV show ever. At the end of every single episode you desperately want to punch someone in the face. It angers me way too much to consider it better than Seinfeld.

I've never seen Curb, but loved Seinfeld. I definitely need to check it out..
