Does anyone know how the Marvel character rights work in this case?

Screw comic books.

This merger isn't a good thing.

I’m against them being in the same universe in the comics, nevertheless the MCU. It would make no sense that there were mutants around for 19 movies and they haven’t shown themselves yet.

With Thanos playing with all of reality on a scale heretofore unheard of and A4 possibly dealing with time travel and/or alternate realities, there is a pretty perfect opportunity to make some changes to incorporate mutants even if they didn’t exist in the MCU prior to Infinity War.

The bigger issue is, as earlier said, a few companies owning everything and driving prices up for the consumer. That said, this deal IS going down and Fox IS being sold. Dread it, Run from it...it’s happening like it or not.

I’d personally rather see Fox properties with Disney than fricking Comcast, one of the worst organizations to deal with already. All the Marvel rights being under the same roof is just the icing on the cake.

After seeing how Disney/Marvel Studios has handled the MCU why would anyone think that them getting their hands on more of their IPs be a bad thing?

I don't think anyone thinks it's a bad thing. We just hate seeing these large companies taking over everything. Its not a good thing for consumers. The MCU stuff is actually towards the bottom in terms of importance.

100 percent of the shares of the company left behind after the deal.

What does that mean exactly ?

Expected. And something that could really start to squeeze ESPN if Comcast runs up the price on Disney (which is already happening)

Google and Netflix needed to get into the ISP game just to have leverage to avoid a shake down.

Google is trying to desperately with Google fiber but the current big ISP holders are doing everything in their power to stop them by bombarding them with law suits over utility pole usage.

All of this. Comcast is the worst. This would be bad.

90s Marvel wrote the worst deals.

Comic book movies then weren’t like they are now. Also Fox doing X-Men in 2000 is what started all of this anyway

Which is what pisses me off when people argue that NN is what somehow stifles competition and innovation.

Blade in 1998 set the table.

It proved that a competently done comic property would be profitable even without a huge built in fan base.

Him being a relatively obscure character to the public at large worked in everyone’s favor, as it got people to say “Ooh, vampire Wesley Snipes!” and watch the film.

In the latest news, industry analysts are suggesting there may be a way out of this bidding war. B. Riley analyst Barton Crockett suggested that he's hoping for a compromise, "that perhaps they could split the baby." As he explained to CNBC, "My sense is that Comcast is particularly interested in Sky, and Disney might have much more interest in much of the rest of it."

Give someone other than Disney a share of the Marvel Universe.

Nobody who is a fan of Marvel movies should hope for that

Blade wasnt a "comic book movie" though, it was a vampire movie. Hell there is still plenty of people who still don't realize Blade was a comic book character first.

Comcast routinely wins the worst company in the world rankings. I have them for my cable right now. They suck.

I wouldn't want the company to win the contract to scrap dog poop off our sidewalks.
