Comcast bids $65 billion for 21st Century Fox assets

Comcast, the parent of CNBC, offered Fox shareholders $35 a share in cash and 100 percent of the shares of the company left behind after the deal.

The deal is a 19 percent premium to the value of Disney's offer as of noon on Wednesday.
The announcement comes one day after a federal judge cleared the way for AT&T's megadeal for Time Warner, a decision that is expected to unleash a wave of big mergers.

The bid, announced Wednesday, represents a 19 percent premium to Disney's offer. Comcast, the parent of CNBC, offered $35 a share in cash.

Personally I hope they win. Give someone other than Disney a share of the Marvel Universe.

Does anyone know how the Marvel character rights work in this case?

I've heard they revert back to Marvel from a few places if Fox gets purchased.

ISPs getting a critical mass of content is worse. AT&T just bought Time Warner, which includes HBO, Comcast would own NBC/Fox and majority control of Hulu. They'd either throttle competitors like NetFlix/YouTube/etc to give their own competing services a leg up, or they'd shake Netflix and Google down. Prices going up for consumers to pay these hidden taxes would be the end result. I saw an article this morning suggesting Google and Netflix needed to get into the ISP game just to have leverage to avoid a shake down.

Right now Fox owns the rights FF4 and Xman etc for so many years as long they keep making movies about them.. If they stop making movie of each over like 2 years the rights go back to marvel

Right. I've been hearing other alleged tidbits of this reverts back if a sale happens or this has to be offered for purchase back on comic boards since the Comcast thing came around.

I just want a good cinematic Doom.

That will NEVER happen. You are just fear mongering to trump up support for NN. /s

WTF?

They have to offer the rights for purchase on a comic board? Stan really was high when he made those deals.

I’m against them being in the same universe in the comics, nevertheless the MCU. It would make no sense that there were mutants around for 19 movies and they haven’t shown themselves yet.

I think the next Avengers film will introduce time travel, and an alternate timeline.
