Anyone else enjoy this show? The tours of the Danish Farms in episode 3was pretty fascinating. I never thought I would see a dairy farm built over water in a city. I believe episodes 5 and 6 of season 5 are released today.

One of the most entertaining shows going. I actually watched the Danish farm episode last night. I made my wife stop what she was doing, and I rewatched the dairy farm part with her. It was incredibly fascinating. What I enjoy about Clarkson and this show is that it promotes a brand of environmentalism that makes sense and is actually pro-human. Good stuff!

How in the world did that farmer pay for that high tech floating dairy with robots with a 30 cow dairy operation? Dairy must be heavily subsidized.

I feel like that couple had to have been fairly wealthy already. I kind of assumed they was a goodwill project to show and test what could be done rather than a profit driven endeavor. I may be wrong but that is what I assumed when watching it.

Peter van Wingerden was fairly well off before this endeavor. They also raised money from investors and get support from all of the companies listed at the bottom of the link above

Between Stephen Garcia getting colon cancer and now Clarkson getting this diagnosis, this should be a wake up call for A LOT of people on this board to get fricking checked even if you have no symptoms. Already had a blood test done a month ago myself

Wife and I randomly stumbled across this yesterday. fricking brilliant shite. Wouldn’t be as entertaining if Clarkson and the cast weren’t great but damn if it isn’t partly hilarious, super fricking interesting and just enough investment emotionally to care but not get overwhelmed like a Euphoria or some heavy shite like that.
Can’t get enough of it and makes farming incredibly interesting to me and it’s not something I’ve ever had an interest in before. Hope Clarkson beats that cancer so we can get another couple of seasons.

Hope they make many many more. Glad to hear he’s in remission. I know he wasn’t in the best of health before the cancer just from the amount he used to smoke and drink but prostate cancer does have a 98% survival rate over 5 years and he caught his early.

I hope they get a chance to have a growing season with decent weather with what they learned from that one Dutch guy regarding the health of the fields.
That episode was truly interesting with how technological those Dutch folks took things, pretty crazy actually. My grand father was a dairy farmer so seeing that self sustaining floating dairy farm in the middle of town was mind blowing.
