Example- I quit posting in the HOTD threads, you know this of course. I did this not because I quit watching but because I don’t like it and you guys refuse to discuss the problems so instead of fighting with you every Sunday I just don’t post anymore. I don’t like the show there’s no point. Why can’t you do the same in regards to people you don’t get along with?

Except that’s not true. And I can prove it. I’ve mentioned that I like the Foundation series on Apple TV. Some have brought up the fact that it has been wokified from the original book. But unlike others here, I don’t deny it , or claim there’s nothing woke about it, and have even said I would prefer the original version. I don’t throw out insults or ask “But why do you care?” - or bullshite like that. I simply say why I like it and that’s it.
And yet when I bring up Rings of Power or the Odyssey or something significant like that some posters try to claim that I’m making things up that there’s nothing there to fuss about. When clearly there is. And when I break it down and explain why these changes take away & lessen the story from the source material , I get piled on for the most cringe of reasons.

Once any thread goes above about three pages, in any board, it's over. No meaningful discourse occurs. Even when I actually go after people on Poli or the OT, anyone that hangs around after 3 pages is an idealogue and not worth engaging. Not that anyone's opinion has ever been changed on the Internet anyway.
I try with decent efficacy to confine inflammatory opinion to Poli and OT. There have been plenty of shitty movies and shows where that are woke, or not, that could be summarized as "well, I didn't laugh." If you insult me/Jews/whatever, and I laugh, we're good. Hans Landa?
My 14 year old wants to see Odyssey because it's supposedly the best move ever according to his broccoli headed friends. I'm willing to sit through it to try, but I'm not enthusiastic about it.
I've watched Foundation, Star City, the Man in High Castle, etc. Tell me a good story, I'm in. It's pretty simple.
