Furiosa is a terrible example for women to use as a feminist icon considering the failures in the character’s plans at each and every step. If it wasn’t for Max. She’s done 20 minutes into the movie.

Captain Marvel doesn't push an overtly political message. Go ahead and watch the movie. You'll survive it.

Not true at all. The cohesiveness worked perfectly. Neither would have made it much further without the other. They needed each other and relied on each other.

Although the TLJ audience reviews were mostly from people who watched the movie.

Before the movie came out, there was nothing but eager anticipation.

Captain Marvel reviews are almost entirely from people who have not seen the movie

Really? My local theater is completely sold out tonight.

That's showings at 6:00, 6:20, 6:50, 7:20, 8:00, 8:30, 9:00, 9:20, 9:45, 10:00, 10:45, and a 3D showing at 10:45.

One theater near me had/has 27 screenings of it today and then again tomorrow. Another has 23 each day. Abundance of screenings will do that.

Judging by the box office returns, looks like you are in the white rhino

Appears to be a massive success so far.

Super excited to see watch it this weekend!

Looks like Captain Marvel's Thursday earnings killed Wonder Woman's. No surprise there. It's Marvel and it's a better movie. I saw some projections going up to $180 million for the weekend, but $150 million looks like a more realistic top end.

I can make an argument for and against that. Both have their flaws and their strengths. They are solidly in the middle class of the MCU.

George Miller discusses Feminism and Mad Max: Fury Road sequels

Not all messages are clumsy, overt condescension towards the audience. And of course, it wasn't marketed as such, stupidly alienating their core audience.

But it's pretty clear that the SJW PR was because there was little enthusiasm for this movie. Apparently, audiences agree. But, I'm looking forward to the fun discussion about how Russian bots dropped the scores.

Better villain and the entire 3rd act is better than WW's 3rd act.

Ehhhh Danny Huston was a better secondary villain than Jude law was.

WW had a better supporting cast and Gal Gadot was a much better lead than Brie Larson. That was the difference to me.
