LOL

they are positive review botting, and RT wasn't deleting them as of early this am(5am)

I can only imagine how many tickets, besides the give aways with that clothing company, that Marvel and Disney bought and donated to charities, etc.

Disney screwed themselves, they gave this moron, Brie a 7picture deal. Buwahahaha She has the emotions of rozy the robot, from the jetsons

Early #boxoffice trend has #CaptainMarvel heading to low 60s for opening day FRI including THU pre-shows. An explosive start. Breaking $150M for opening wknd looks likely. Hitting $160M may result too. Plus low competition in the weeks ahead for a huge final.

I just checked Flixster and there are a lot of open seats here too for the weekend. Which is odd. Still going to give it a week before I go see CM though.

I don’t have a dog in this fight because I don’t care what actors do off screen.

Domestically, my guess is it opens huge but legs will be weak.

Saw it last night. Larson and Sam Jackson played off of each other very well. I didn't feel like the stakes were very high but there were so many good individual moments in the film it helped with the overall flow. It was funny in spots but not every joke landed. Its a 7/10 movie for me. CGI at the end was great.

Based on what? It made 60 mil last night (Friday), so it will open huge. What movie is coming out this month to compete? Us, in two weeks? Probably not; it might be successful, but it's a straight horror film. Dumbo in three weeks? I don't see the massive number of adults seeing captain marvel rushing out to see a remake of a cartoon if they don't have kids, though it will also likely make good money.

Shazam! comes out in a month, and it will be Captain Marvel's first direct competition for an audience market share.

I know some people hate this movie, for both legitimate and illegitimate reasons, but it's set up to stick around.

Still plenty of open seats for prime showings. Disney must have really put the whammy on those ticket sales. I wonder how much $ they pumped into window dressing for those opening weekend numbers. It will just vanish down the marketing hole. This thing goes flatter than Brie's caboose next week. Book it.

It will have some legs til Dumbo, the roller derby chics of the world will buy tickets just to show support but it won’t be like Black Panther. It will wind up around $400 million domestically just because people are desperate for something before Endgame.

We are going to see it tonight. I am going in with low to mid-level expectations. I hope to be surprised!

Again, it's one thing to dislike the movie and star, but your prediction ignores the reality of the next few weeks of theater releases.

Captain Marvel will go flat in favor of what, specifically?

right, and if it is going to earn $140-$150 million domestic this weekend, it's already a huge hit for Marvel. It's not going to fall that flat.

Probably unavoidable for any movie set before the snap.

Weak is too strong of a word, let's say average legs. I don't think it gets to 500 million, domestically.

It won’t get there based on individual merit, but due to supply, situation, and branding.
