After the garage door closed was the most amazing TV I've seen in years outside of a red wedding.
Man i completely agree. As soon as Hank hit the door close, I scooted up on the couch rubbing my hands together like "here we go!"
I love the fact that Walt copped to nothing but still basically implied that coming after him was fruitless.
I think the whole situation of him being concerned about Hank busting him is blinding him from the fact that the real threat might be Lydia and her foreign buyers. She implied she needed Walt back badly. But Walt has also had ideas about killing her 2 or 3 times now, and his greed got in the way of doing the smart thing.

I think introducing this new story line at this point would be a bad idea. We have had the final confrontation between Walt/Jesse/Hank building up for seasons now. No reason to bring in something foreign.
Although it might be poetic justice if in the end Walt does die from some random European thug bc he was blinded by Walt and Jesse. It would have a certain Omar feel to it.

Gilligan said himself that the Czech angle would come into play next episode.

First thing I thought. That's a "you look like you've seen a ghost" moment if I've ever seen one.
I think it was more "I can't believe I'm seeing you again after knowing you went on the run for all the horrible stuff you have done."

I consider someone with no conscience to be evil. Walt has no conscience.
I think midway Season 4 you could tell he just didn't GAF anymore. He's lost it at this point and I predict he kills a few more people including Jesse and/or Hank.

I think that angle plays perfectly. Walt worked so hard to be the swinging dick of the southwest in terms of drugs etc. But as the saying goes, there is always a bigger fish.
I think it's going to make Walt realize just how small he is in the niche he clawed out. Its an ongoing battle in a life he threw himself into. He didn't have the backing to be Gus, though he wanted and aspired to be exactly what Gus was.
I just think Hank knows he can't prosecute Walt without killing his own career considering they bankrolled the rehab etc. So will he cut off his nose to spite his face? Will that even work? I think Hank is just more pissed that Walt is "bigger" than he is. He always sort of looked down on Walt, but now sees Walt as something more powerful than himself.

ok couple of observations
1. walt's arrogance (again) by keeping that book as a trophy and flaunting it in hank's face led to this. frick walt.
2. jesse has changed; for the first time the look on his face tells me he KNOWS walt is lying about mike..and he's thinking back on everything else he's been told..gus poisoning the kid, etc. jesse has always had a fondness for kids..remember the episode where walt ran over those scumbags in the aztec? the boy on the dirt bike was the straw that broke the camel's back. remember jesse was still super gung-ho..even figuring out a master plan to rob the train..but after the kid was shot in the face he checked out completely and forever.
i think jesse is a total loose cannon and is capable of anything at this point.
3. i have a completely different take on hank, jesse, lydia and the m60. i think lydia's connections somehow threatens or 'offs' either hank, jesse, skylar, walt jr, or a combination thereof after finding out hank is onto walt to protect herself. she's more ruthless than walt when cornered.
i think walt needs the m60 to go after either the czechs, lydia or todd & his dad's gang as revenge after they kill some or all of his family.
i think the reason the neighor thinks he's dead is there is a massive blowup where many of the main characters die and walt someone escapes and hides out until he has a chance to seek revenge.
thats all i got.

Speculatin' is fun. I have no idea where this show is going but my best theory is Walter Jr being the mastermind and the final shot would be him hobbling away then slowly transforming into a normal gait like so much Keyser Soze. That would rule and you know it.

especially given how neurotic and tense she is in regards to all this. This drives her as much as it did walt.

lydia is *NOT* stupid. no way after almost being killed by walt at the coffee shop (she knew she had a target on her head) that she didnt take out insurance to see it doesn't happen again.
i bet if walt threatened her again, he'd find out just how much firepower she has now..after all he let her run the whole show and she's made more than enough money to afford an entire army of merceneries..plus she is the one with the foreign connections..not walt...and can pretty much own him whenever she wants.
i think that 'friendly' visit to the car wash was a shot over the bow. i bet the next time she appears she will own walt because she knows everything and can destroy him in one of 100 different ways.
walt is getting squeezed between her and hank.
walt..undone by a neurotic woman

I liked her better when she was Scottish and making armor (sorry, "armour") for The Joker, back in the day.

I don't know that Lydia will even be shown again. The half-season ended months after Walt has dropped out of the drug scene. I'm sure she has moved on. It could come up if Hank figures out that she was directly involved, but as of now I don't think he knows that...
fricked this one up, huh Thrill?
