I never watched the show in the years it was on (and don't do Netflix). But caught a bunch of the episodes on the recent marathon showing and watched the finale.
Wow, I'm surprised you watched the finale. I've been engrossed with those show for awhile, and you should definitely watch every single episode. It does such a great job at character developing, the plot is the best written on TV ever in my opinion, and the cinematography is phenomenal.
As for Walt being a horrible human being, yes he was. He broke bad, that's the meaning of the show. He got way too deep into cooking, because, as he said, he liked it, he felt alive doing it.
I want to rewatch every episode again, because there is so much to the show that I feel like I missed the first time through.

I've never been adverse to jumping in late in a series - even one with sequential storytelling and ongoing plots. But yeah, I'll probably end up catching the whole series on DVD or replays or something.
Regarding the discussion about people rooting for Walt - I think the concept of pulling for criminals and bad guys is a pretty long lived one in entertainment - Vito Corleone, Bonnie and Clyde, Billy the Kid and Jessie James, heck all the way back to Robin Hood and even further. (though for those really old ones I think they white washed things a lot more than modern forms of entertainment).

The ending of that episode is what got me hooked for good.

Before that, when she didn't know what Walt was up to, she was a whiny little bitch.
Even though she didn't know what Walt was doing she knew very early on that Walt was repeatedly lying to her. Spouses tend not to take that very well.

Just got around to watching the finale. Probably the best thing I have ever seen on TV. Still in shock over the ending. It was perfect.

I don't really have time to rewatch tonight but did I miss anything when Lydia got the ricin? Obviously when they zoomed in on her stirring the cup I knew it was in the sugar packet but did Walt do any Huel-esque tricks to get it in the pack or just leave it on the table before she got there?

Left on the table before she got there. She was a creature of habit.

Allright I thought maybe he did something sneaky in his coughing fit

The camera followed her picking it out of the jar. It was the only packet of Stevia. I'll say this for Walt; he was a perceptive mofo. I'm making a point of paying more attention to the minutiae of everyday life. You never know when it'll come in handy.

Badfinger's 'Baby Blue' from finale closing is shooting up the ITunes charts.. https://www.usatoday.com/breaking-bad-finale-last-song-baby-blue-badfinger
Much like Tommy James and The Shondells 'Crystal Blue Persuasion' got some renewed publicity via Season 5-Ep 8, and subsequent Simpsons spoof.

Don't read my spoiler then.
If GoT and TWD have taught us anything, it is to always put a spoiler warning.

frick Marie with a hot iron cattle brand. I wish a stray bullet from that m60 would have flown a mile and caught her in the head at a red light.
I think Walt took part, physically,in dissolving 6 bodies. The fact that I took the attitude of Walt,it's the cost of doing business, speaks volumes about the writing and acting.I'm pretty sure I'm not a sociopath.
