I would also love to see a proper movie adaptation of my all time favorite book, Childhood’s End.
Not some cheap SciFi network thing with bad actors and special effects.
Close Encounters
V
Independence Day
They all stole from Childhood’s End.

On a Pale Horse is one of my all time favorite books. Could make a fantastic movie.
I like "For Love of Evil" in the Incarnations series. Satan is a very interesting character in this series. I like how how each "Incarnation" is occupying the position until unique circumstances removes them for each role for another to assume the title.
Question: Would you want a "Lilah"?

Riverworld. Done properly would be epic .
quote:
On the Riverworld, every human who ever lived and died – from the earliest Neanderthals up to 1983 – is resurrected on the banks of a seemingly endless river on an unknown planet. Along the river's almost 18 million twisting and turning miles, some 36.6 billion humans are miraculously provided with food, but with no clue to the possible meaning or purpose of this strange afterlife
quote:
Most of the resurrected awaken in a body equivalent to that of their 25-year-old selves, in perfect health and free of any previous genetic or acquired defects. All heart disease, tooth decay, and blindness are gone, all amputated limbs are restored, and all scars, tattoos and other body modifications are removed; whereas certain neurological impulses (for instance, curiosity or chemical addiction) remain intact. These bodies do not age, and can regenerate nearly any non-fatal injury, including dismemberments and blindings

I’m a huge Cosmere fan and this would be a great high budget series, but too much to cram into a movie—even a trilogy.
Plus I have zero faith in Hollywood making anything faithful to any books. Just look at what they did to World of Time.
If the right players can turn the LotR Book Trilogy into an arguably more successful film adaptation trilogy, then it's definitely possible with the Mistborn Trilogy. Now if we were talking about the Stormlight Archive, I'd agree that would be an insane undertaking akin top Wheel of Time. WoT just doesn't have creators involved that are staying true to the source material. That, and it's just a crap ton of material to try to condense into seasons with episodes in the single digits.
Mistborn films have been on and off again for years, and a year or so ago Brandon had a heightened level of confidence that production would be underway in 2024 but then negotiations fell through again. I personally think it's because he wants almost all, if not complete control. This would be the only way it's true to the source material, and I wouldn't want it any other way.

It’s been a long time since LOTR was made and I’m skeptical today’s Hollywood could pull it off. Just look at the Rings of Power. But yes if it’s high production and BS has control then it’d be awesome.
Stormlight has too much going on, and too much internal dialogue, to translate well, I agree. Maybe animated it’d be good.

One of the books was made into a TV movie with Mark Harmon as Lucas and there was another one with Eriq Lasalle. I haven’t seen either.

I don't know if it would be better as a movie series or TV show (TV gives it time to tell story better), but Expeditionary Force series by Craig Alanson.
It's got space, war, and more importantly... Skippy The Magnificent. And I pray they let R.C. Bray do the voice of Skippy

Not a series, but I’d love an accurate big budget production of Atlas Shrugged or Brave New World.
