3rd season was the peak. Loved Gyp Rosetti. The finale wss somewhat of a letdown.

Was it season 2 where some key story figures disappeared? I dunno, that's where I bailed. I was also watching it live, and I'm bad at that. I'd try it again, but I rarely hear people talk about it, which makes me assume it was just fine. Or bad.

I enjoyed it week to week but would not rewatch it. When I think back on it overall I don't think it was very good.

I thought it was a great show. Van Alden, Richard Harrow, Capone, Rossetti were all great characters. Hell, they were all great.

First three seasons are very solid, last two are big piles of meh.

Seasons 2 and 3 are some of the best gangster themed media in history.
Costume, makeup, and production design was incredible.
The huge cast of supporting actors was incredible. Richard Harrow, Chalky White, Nelson Van Alden, Eli Thompson, Gyp Rossetti (all fictional characters) as well as Al Capone and Arnold Rothstein (obviously real people) really drove the show.
The only big negatives: they never decided what to do with Kelly MacDonald's character, so she disappears for huge stretches and is boring when included; every chick that Nucky bangs on the side is fricking insufferable; the show went off the rails in season 4 when they began to focus more on how outclassed Nucky was by the big New York gangsters and the last season was legitimately bad. Patricia Arquette killed any interest I had in Nucky's storyline when she showed up in Season 4.
