It’s an amazing show. My kid loves it and it captures being a parent better than any show i’ve ever seen.

The storytelling is top notch. It's the ideal parents we strive to be but fall short.

Bluey seriously reminds me to be a good dad when I'm cross or tired.

Take Seesaw for example. You could figure out where that story was going early on but the way the dad sat on the seesaw so nonchalantly and then when they were going to lift him without the Pom on yet he just casually scooped up a couple of stones to add weight.

It's very subtle but when the Pom gets on and they raise him up you can see the stones are on the ground because he put them down so he would be lifted up only after the Pom climbed up.

They're really good at this. You have to watch everything going on.

It’s great and definitely knows how to hit emotions. When they put Bandit on trial over who farted is one of my favorites.

"Oh like you don't bake the odd brownie."

I feel like I would wreck shop in a Bluey trivia contest.
I watch it daily.

My kids use lots of Australian language because they've seen it so much.

Good one dad!

It just hits on the small tidbits that Chili lost her baby with a miscarriage. The miscarriage obviously happens before Bluey was born, so Bluey was the 2nd pregnancy.. bingo being the 3rd

One was from “the show” when Bingo was pretending to be Chili and the balloon popped and bandit immediately put his hands on Chili to comfort her.

The second one is in Sleepy Time.

Bingo is represented by the Earth.. it hatches. 3rd planet from the sun.

Bluey is represented by Venus.. it hatches. 2nd planet from the sun

Mercury, the planet Bingo finally stops on, doesn’t hatch. Chili is talking to Bingo at the end, but also the baby she lost

Just learned this the other day. Had to explain what a miscarriage was to my two oldest girls (9 and 7). Started choking up because all I could think about are my very close friends who wen through multiple miscarriages and how lucky i was not having to go through that.

I went back and watched Sleepy Time last night thanks to this thread. I would not have picked up on the planet/miscarriage thing. I did pick up on it in the episode where they do the play, but not in this one. If y'all picked it up on your own, that's impressive

Mine too

Its a great show. The dad isn't an idiot, the men aren't all bumbling idiots, there are no class clowns, no real negative characters at all.

Its so refreshing. No underlying social agenda that I can detect. Just good wholesome entertainment.

My son used to watch Bluey before school when he was about 7. He’s now 11 and we don’t watch it anymore…the passing of time hits hard.

I’ve always tried to be out there playing with the kids so I can identify with Bandit. Sometimes I’d be so tired but my kids just HAD to go to the playground where I’d chase them around.

That's a great point. Even Lucky's Dad, who is supposed to be a goofy guy, has quite a few opportunities to show his redeeming qualities. He is always willing to jump into their games, even if it results in injury. He wants to instill some real world realities to the kids. He's a great neighbor.

Episodes that get to me:

Cricket
Grandpa ending (just devastating and all my kids are still little)
Chest Chili monologue
Pulling out The Sign/tackle scene
Onesies
