I heard this movie is dedicated to the ME too movement and this is Black Widow Me too voice also heard, that the writer hate guns and so will not let guns be used in the movie, any truth to that?

Possibly Ussr and USA reached a deal in 85 to each lock up their super soldiers.

Where did you hear that? I got no such vibe from this film. First, there were tons of guns. Second, if they were going for a #metoo movement moment then they failed spectacularly. They made a much clearer human trafficking/open borders statement, whether intentional or not.

That would be a great way to tie that series to this movie and would make a lot more sense than the reasoning given in FATWS. Maybe Red Guardian didn't even realize he wasn't fighting the original Captain America and was instead fighting Isaiah Bradley.

Good movie. Better than Captain Marvel
My theater crowd fricking sucked dick. Like 200 person theater. Maybe 300 and it was like everyone was afraid to laugh or something.
I guess I'll just start going on Thursday nights when the die hard fans are there. An unenthusiastic really takes away from the experience.
I was hoping Florence Pugh and ScarJo would make out out the end. They both looked great all movie

Just finished and really liked it. Good addition to the MCU and always liked that Natasha got her own movie. Post credit scene has me hyped.
And I now have a crush on Florence Pugh.

Just got out. This movie is absolutely the correct way to do girl power. Good movie, really enjoyed

Would love a proper Red Guardian prequel, too.
Agreed, he was great.
The first 90 minutes of this was really really good. It lost a little bit of steam pretty much once they went into the air fortress, and the ending was way too over the top imo.
The super hero stuff is fine when it’s Cap or WS fighting through a crashing air ship but too much for Natasha.
Still, the opening 15 minutes was as good as any origin Marvel has done imo. MCU meets The Americans, with a badass cover of Smells Like Teen Spirit?? Yes please
I actually didn’t realize this was during the MCU timeline and not a true “origin” for Natasha. Was kind of cool I guess but would have been nice to see this before Endgame.
Would like to see some earlier Natasha. A flashback movie with her and Clint would have made a ton of sense, obviously, but I’ve always even wanted to see her earlier run in with WS.
Anyway, MCU still got it, even if this isn’t one of the top tier installments.
Florence Pugh nice to meet you

Was it just me, or does Yelena's personality remind them of Villanelle from Killing Eve?
Oh most definitely. In fact I paused the scene with her in the helicopter to see if that was the same actress.

It was entertaining enough. The opening rendition of smells like teen spirit would have made Cobain physically ill.

This felt more like a Florence Pugh Black Widow origin story, which is a good thing. The “family” dynamic stuff really worked for me. They felt like unique interesting characters and made me want to see more of them.

That guy sucks.
I don't think so. I think he just isn't easily swayed by a generic "plug and play" comic book movie. Which is essentially what the MCU has devolved into. Most of these films recycle the same plot and Black Widow shares a lot in common with Captain America: The Winter Soldier - a far superior film that actually added something to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. All Black Widow does is tell a generic, rehashed story with no point or purpose to it.

Just saw it. Good but not great. Mid level marvel movie, which is still a fun time. Great way to honor a great character and pull off a female lead action movie.
Wasn’t a fan of the mind control aspect. In the comics the widows are just bad arse evil soviet assassins. Not sure why we can’t just have evil villains sometimes. Not everyone has to be misunderstood or only bad because they are forced to be. Takes away from Nat’s choice to walk away.
Generally confused on how the watching at home will affect these movies. You wont get the big numbers/headlines and people wont go for repeat viewings but the company makes all the money instead of the theater taking a huge cut.

He definitely wasn’t fighting Bradley. Pretty sure Bradley wasn’t running missions in the 80s.
They either had another white guy who tested the serum or he was making it all up. Who knows maybe it was Bucky in a bootleg Cap costume running some mission.

Felt the same way

Natasha and the widows weren’t under mind control when she was there.
He said her leaving is why he designed the mind control technology so it wouldn’t happen again.
That’s why Natasha was so haunted by the daughter. It was 100% her choice and she had to live with it.
Actually thought it would have been more interesting though if the daughter wasn’t under mind control, just pissed, and justifiably so
Would have made that final battle much more complicated imo.

Yeah the financials will dictate how the industry handles it obviously.
I like having both options. With kids it’s become harder to make it to the theater for adult movies.
Loved going back for Tenet and F9 and definitely will for Top Gun but didn’t think this necessarily needed to be a theater experience and it was nice to not have to figure out child care for this one.
Plus I don’t do opening weekend crowds so still being able to see this on release night was great.

Downvote away but I jumped off the marvel train a while back.
Let me guess: this movie ended with a CGI extravaganza with no real weight, feel, or consequence?
Something about the FX in later Marvel movies. A bunch of CGI characters in a brown muddy field going at it and somehow you never really feel anyone's in danger.
Star Wars for all its faults does it better. And LOTR did it better 20 years ago.
Marvel did it all better than DC, but that was a low bar to begin with.
I was on board and buying the movies for a while but after the 2nd Avengers movie it just got to be meh, more of the same. My favorite of the bunch remains the first Iron Man.

Lost on first end credit. Did she turn herself in? She didnt get on the plane with the others. Then, It showed her 2 weeks later.

Was not expecting the darkest joke in all of the MCU w/Florence Pugh's "Chop chop chop" bit about her forced hysterectomy.
IMO it was worth the Disney+ rental. I wish we had gone to a theater but w/a pregnant wife who is due in two weeks we weren't going to be able to deal w/all that. My wife loved it plus my brother and mother were able to watch it in a completely different state off my account. Disney may want to rethink the rental at home thing b/c I think they are probably losing a ton of money with people who account share.

I posted this in the other BW thread but it bears repeating.
Why is it people only make this complaint for comic based movies but never complain about the lack of risk for movie series like Bond, Bourne, Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Fast and Furious or the skillion of other spy/buddy cop/action movies where we know the hero isn't going to die?
