Let me know if anyone wants to join me for this. Last weekend in Bham.

Sunday May 24 at 2:30pm. Jen Silverman’s hilarious play, which The New York Times called “a fult-tilt lesbian/bi-curios/genderqueer/Shakespearean comedy for everyone,” explores anger, sex, love and the “thea-tah” through the the experiences of five women named Betty.

Its true, but the only person to get mad at over it is the woman in the OP. Its her production company and she is casting herself as betty boop.

Grown arse men clutching pearls cause a cartoon/comic strip character from the 30s is being played by a black person. Cause muh white skin matters. Is her skin color important to some story/narrative? No, it's not. She represents a Jazz Age flapper, ffs.

Grown arse men bitching about this is the equivalent of complaining about Taylor Swift's hair. JFC.

If we aren’t allowed to call stupid things like this casting move stupid, we may as well shut down all message boards.

Is there another country on planet earth where 13% of the population gets 90% of the representation? Or is it just Cuckmerica?

Sincerely, a homotron who'd torch cities and threaten the children of everyone involved if the roles were reversed.

I will. And I'll make it an all white cast just to watch you cry and threaten children over "a lack of diversity".

this is how you people want to move thru life. Just keep taking inch by inch and complain when someone calls you out for this laughable stuff until you get to the point of Snow White and this.

You’re not permitted to notice and certainly not to object. You need to shut up, spend your money, and appreciate your culture being appropriated.

So your hypothetical to make fun of me is me doing what you are actually doing in real life?

Haha

The only episode of Abbot Elementary ive ever seen was the Always Sunny crossover episode. Im not gonna watch this shite either. I just find it weird that you care so much what she makes.

Its America, people have the freedom to create things. The market can then decide if they wanna purchase/watch them.

Somewhere not pretending to care about a comic strip character who has absolutely zero cultural currency or relevance in the past 50 years. 50 is probably an understatement.

If you feel very strongly that Betty Boop is somehow part of your cultural legacy, then I feel very bad for you.

It's more that you definitely don't care about this character.
