I want to watch this again. Don't really remember it very much, but it was good I think.

Movie was good not great. Problem is the director could've knocked it out the park but just didn't "get" the book. She changed some sequences in which the timing was critical in the book, and the humor was wrong at points. Bale was perfect as Bateman, and he's the reason this movie was any good.
Maybe if I wasn't a fan of the book prior to the movie I would see this differently, but the changes made were head scratching.

'M' might be the greatest of all time. It's a forgotten gem, but it is an absolutely perfect film. Fritz Lang's best, and Peter Lorre at his finest. That whistle is creepy AF!
Silence of Lambs and Seven are definitely up there for more modern movies.

One of my favorite films of all time. I rewatch at least once a year.

FBI Definition: Serial Killers. A serial killer is, traditionally, a person who has murdered three or more people over a period of more than a month, with down time (a “cooling off period”) between the murders.

The Vanishing. Dutch /French version. 1988.
With a Friend Like Harry ( or in French- Harry, He’s here to help). 2000.
Both take deep dives into the psychological motivation behind serial killers and both are beyond creepy. Look at the Rotten Tomato raves and run to see and thank me later if you are a fan of the genre.

A film class could dedicate 25% of its studies on this masterpiece. The use of shadows in it is second to none, and that includes Citizen Kane

Se7en is one of the most overrated movies ever.

I dated a girl around the time this movie came out. We broke up because she was a whore. I started calling her The Bone Collector. I caught on, and that was her nickname for a while.

I'm probably in the minority, but I think Summer of Sam is one of Spike Lee's best.
It's a damned fine movie with a similar vibe to Boogie Nights (that's a compliment).

No Country For Old Men
I see the back and forth down the thread, but I think you've hit on yet another level of that outstanding (frankly, GOAT candidate in my book) film.
Chigurh is an assassin, implicitly an outside contractor for various OC factions. A "fixer", he is almost equal parts "Ice Man" Kuklinski and evil Indiana Jones.
But, he also kills for his own purposes. In fact, killing defines more who he is, rather than what he does for a living.
So, doesn't that blur the lines at least, between contract killer and serial murderer/killer? Even though the latter almost always have some psychosexual hangup associated with childhood abuse and/or a very dysfunctional relationship with their mother, it certainly raises an intriguing question for those who classify such predators.

Anyone seen, No One Lives?
Luke Evans is all the right crazy as a serial killer in that.
